Q:950 million phones sold last year and the total worldwide mobile subscriber base grew from 2.1 billion to 2.7 billion. Phones are replaced every 18 months. How many people have more then one mobile phone? what do they do with old theyone?
I would suspect there are a LOT of people who keep at least one old phone around just in case they break their new phone, especially if that old phone is some plain-jane phone that isn't worth much on the used market. If the phone is actually still worth anything on the 2nd hand market, they often get sold on OKorder, craigs list, local newspaper etc. Many, and I mean a LOT of phones never fully survive 2 years. You are also looking at this from a very skewed perspective, that of the 2 year contract or 18 month replacement cycle. In Europe, it is normal to purchase the phone and the service separately, no contract, no subsidy, no waiting 18 or 24 months before replacing a phone. You are free to buy a phone, or many (at retail, maybe $500-$900+ for a smart phone) sell at will, swap your SIM from one to another. It would not be strange to have a phone for work, one for the weekend, an old beater for dirty enviroments Also, if you are someone who just wants a plain old mobile for Emergency use or to make the occasional phone call, there is no reason you can't keep the phone for 3,4,5 years. There are just WAY to many variables between total sold and total subscribers to make any kind of real comparison. If the subscribers grew by 1 billion, but number of phones sold grew by 500 million, then you could conclude that the used phone business is doing very well, but short of that, you just can't make any comparisons from those numbers.
Q:I want to have windows mobile on my intensity phone is this possible? if not can i put the real verison of windows 7 on my phone and if i did this i couldnt call people.i can download windows mobile but all i need to know is how to install it on my phone thanks.
You can't do any of that stuff. Phones aren't like PCs where anyone who's reasonably tech savvy can install a different operating system; it takes a team of programmers months to put a different operating system onto a new phone. Also, phones have different hardware than PCs, so even if you *could* just install a different operating system onto a phone, an operating system made for a PC (like Windows 7) wouldn't work on a phone (and vice-versa).
Q:I need to buy a new mobile phone, i would like it to have-bluetooth-camera-mp3 player-lots of memory-random other cool featuresIf any of you have a cool mobile phone or know of one then could you reccomend it links to photos and stuff like that would be good )
Sony okorder
Q:Phone memory and cache. how to explain?
The system's apk program cache files are cleared out into the phone's settings options, select "Settings" - "application" - "management application".
Q:a friend of mine said he called t mobile and simply talked them into sending him a free phone. he says they care more about u cutting off the service than the products themselves. is this true? if so what would u say? serious replies only - i'm sick of the t mobile mda
it was really free? i doubt that.
Q:I recently bought a mobile from a friend. All is in good working condition, however when I try to put my sim in it where it is supposed to say 'o2' it says 'inactive sim' ?? But my sim works in my old phone? Is it the new phone?Any ideas on what i can do ?
this isn't any longer the situation with the sim card this is the situation with the cellular telephone in basic terms attempt to place the sim card to 3 different cellular it will be working positive so attempt to replace the utility of the cellular this is going to start up working positive do no longer exchange the sim card the sim card has no situation Regards Sadat
Q:i have been with this girl for 2 years she recently bought a new mobile phoneshe gave me the number as soon as she bought the new phone when i asked her why she need a second phone , she told me she use it to call her father (free call) because her father goes to trip a lot should i believe her ?
2 mobiles phones - is this normal? - well some people yes they have two phones Should I believe her ? well no-one here should tell you what you should or shouldn't be thinking surely ? But look at the facts ! She buys a new mobile and gives you the number ! She gives you the number !! is that the act of a person with something to hide ?? Not in my book She then tells you she is going to use the phone to make free calls to her father - that's just common sense on her part surely ? its probably cheaper to buy that phone and get free calls, than pay expensive rates on her existing phone. Sounds like this is all down your trust issues or lack of self-esteem on your part rather than anything g/f has or hasn't done
Q:can you use a sprint phone with virgin mobile, sprint necessarily is virgin mobile. i
Not able to use Sprint is CDMAVirgin Mobile Does not have the Sim Card Slot.
Q:I have a lg rumour phone since January and it recently dropped from my pocket. The phone itself works its just the screen or something in the screen cracked. It looks like the screen when I broke my laptop. I'm currently on a 2 year plan at Virgin. Can I replace my phone for another one? How much would I have to pay to get another phone? and I was wondering, my phone doesnt have a sim card, if i buy a virgin mobile sim card, can i insert it into my phone or something and transfer the data on to aanother phone? If I get the sim card, can i use it on other phones from other companies such as fido or rogers?
ur on virgin mobile canada? well i guess u are. well if your phone doesn't have a sim card then it doesn't work with the GSM/HSPA phones. the phones like iphone, blackberry. are ones that use sims cardsalso the sim card will not work on other companies if u wanna get data off ur phone then u would use memory card. i am not sure if the lg rumour has MicroSD slots if u had the phone in january i doubt u can get a upgrade of any kind. i am pretty sure ull have to pay full price for it for a new lg rumor. also, the phone has warranty still BUT there is physical damage and usually people get denied new phones because they think you did the damage on purpose. which sucks all i can say is go to virgin mobile and ask if they can give u under the manufacturer warranty a new phone(i hope so) but thye might deny you as i mentioned about physical damage.
