- do you mean that it is leaving the rubber backing on the wood floors? if so just use some varsol to remove it. please do not use murphys oil soap or any of those other chemical products. they are the worst thing for wood or painted surfaces. min wax has a product that you can use to clean it up but if it is the original colour from when the floors where originally finishedand and the sun has faded it then you won't get rid of the difference even if you refinish them

- For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/Gmwh7 I'd try to get to the store and get non-acetone nail polish remover. The acetone can melt the fibers in the carpet leaving you a bare spot instead of a blue one. I've heard lighter fluid, alcohol and sugar/water kind of paste.....I think I'd go with the non-acetone remover if you can get ahold of some. Or if worse comes to worse.....go over it with blue nail polish....
- Q:Do I Put the floor base moulding in before or after I carpet.. It would make sense to do it before because after to patch up the nail holes and repaint it you dont have to worry about getting paint on the carpet but it wont looks as large as the carpet would cover up a portion of it.. So my question is what is the proper time to put it in? Thanks
- Put the base boards on before the carpet is installed. If you ever need to replace the carpet in the future you wont have to remove all the base boards to do it. The carpet installer uses tack strips at all wall areas to hold the carpeting. Once the carpet is installed you will need to touch up the finish on the base boards do to some scratches that the carpet installer will cause. I'm a builder 30 years.
