Q:Is there a peak time for common garden weeds? I know they're around all year but when will the seedlings stop springing up everywhere?
There okorder /(20 % costs over $10/gal but less than Scott’s Weed B Gon at $15/gal. Only the hardiest weeds need 20%, 10% does for most weeds. 2-Xpress, Matran or Alldown, but these are to be used on weeds less than 5 inches tall. 3- Pelargonic acid, found in many plants, is currently available in a commercial herbicide, Scythe, but is not yet approved as an organic herbicide.
Q:My friend father died and asked that his ashes be spread into the garden of his home. He had cancer and will this pollute this garden? The bible speaks of ashes to ashes and dust to dust, so will this affect the growing of the plants or fruits?
Translation: He wants to return back home to the origin of which he was created. By nature mankind was created and by nature he wishes to return back home to it. Fulfill his dreams and your friend will receive many future blessings. In the long term, it can even spare your friend from burning in the fires of Gahenna, that is, if such exists. I am not here to preach or represent any religious practices. What you believe in is your choice. But if I were your friend, I'd fulfill his dreams and respect his desires. At the end of the day, he is still your friend's father. One last sign of obedience is the least that your friend can offer to this great man, who must have really loved his garden. And fact is, home is where the heart is. That is why we say, Home, sweet, home. Spread and water his ashes into the soil to prevent from blowing astray. (If you live in a climate where the weather is blistering cold and covered with snow, I'd wait 'til the earth softens. Only then will Mother Earth be more prepared to receive him--with her arms, wide-open.) May God Bless you both.
Q:I need to buy a bike organizer that hangs from the ceiling of the garage and don't want to pay full price. I've searched online without luck. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. :-)

Q:I live in an urbanized area so I have a very limited space for backyard gardening. I want to have an access to vegetables that are safe and nutritious, meaning 100% free from chemicals. What can I do? What vegetables can I start growing? Useful links will be appreciated. Thanks! :)
Buy some plant food, ask the Nursery staff what to get. There are all different types. And ask how often you should be feeding and watering the plants. SO once you are all organised get home, plant and wait for everything to grow. It sounds like a lot, but I find it fun and relaxing and so rewarding! Make sure you keep an eye on your plants. Don't forget about them. If they start to not look like they are going that well (e.g. going a funny colour, getting spots, being eaten by something) try and research what is causing this problem on google or at your nursey and you will be about to find a solution. Herbs are a great way to start! Tomatoes and things like spring onions and silverbeet are easy to grow, give them a shot! Good luck :)
Q:When they say better they might not mean quot;more expensivequot;. The true meaning is quot;upgradequot;, but they don't specifically mean a big upgrade. My friend grows all kinds of herbs when they're in season, he cooks, makes tea, and uses them for medicine for his elderly auntie. Better Homes and Gardens forces you to think about what the word better really means.
Don't let yourself be overwhelmed by the title. Better Homes and Gardens doesn't force you to think anything. It's a title. Similar to Readers Digest, it doesn't mean that you have to literally digest anything, it's offering choices, something that possibly could create a better home or garden!!
Q:I currently get Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies Home Journal. I like recipes and articles on decorating. Any other good magazines?

Q:Hi, I have a copy of the Better Homes and Gardens Bread Cookbook from 1963. In there is a recipe for Hopping Bunny Bread. The picture with the recipe shows two versions of the finished bread: one has the bunnies shaped in a curlicue type of fashion, with a head, body, tail and ears. The other version is simpler, just a twist of bread that resembles a bunny from the back, with a tail at the bottom. I have the cookbook but we moved and a lot of my books are in storage, and I won't be able to look for this book until after Easter. This bread is a tradition in my house...I bake enough for my family and for my parents too. I do remember that there is orange juice in the bread dough. If anyone has this recipe or cookbook and can give me the recipe I will really appreciate it!
I okorder Customer Service (upper right corner of the page) and ask them for the recipe. It's not on their website, but they should have access to all of their older recipe books. And once they see it's a requested recipe, they might add it to their website. You could suggest that to them since your family and friends enjoy it so much. Sorry I can't help you more.
Q:Need to replace a mobile home garden tub. Where can I get one?
Easiest way is to contact the manufacturer you bought it from, they will carry custom furnishings for your mobile home...good luck
Q:I heard a state legislator today on the radio talking about taxing home gardens that grow vegetables and other produce. This state is in serious economic trouble and they are looking at every possible source of revenue. The legislator stated that many home gardeners sell their produce at flea markets and do not pay any sales tax, that the produce grown even if not sold amounts to income and should be taxed. What do you think if the feasibility and practicality of this?
As long as they don't tax my stash, man!
Q:in my home garden, due to a lot of plants, there are a lot of mosquitoes, i know i could just use bug zapper at places but still it is a risk sleeping out in my garden or having dates in the garden and spending a lot of time in the garden, can i regularly spray Anti-Mosquito#92;Mosquito Killer Sprays on plants to get rid of mosquitoes? will it be bad for plants?will it also be bad for the vegetables those plants are producing?is there any other way to get rid of mosquitoes from garden?
Mat is correct as far as Roundup is concerned. It is safe to use on weeds in lawns because it clings to the leaves of the weeds and doesn't get deposited in the soil. Now if you need to kill an area again to get rid of stubborn weeds, don't use chemicals. Plain old white vinegar will do the job, but it requires a lot. Let the weeds curl up and die from the vinegar, then water the soil well 2 or 3 times over the course of a week. You can replant after that. White vinegar will also kill ant hills as well as gasoline does, but the soil recovers Use it to kill the weeds in your sidewalk, too.
