- Sorry, but the chances are it will either do nothing, or make a splotchy mess. The only way to really change the color of a carpet is to buy a new one. If you are willing to do this, why no try bleaching the existing one first. Mixing a spray bottle of 10 parts water to one part bleach would be a good start. But realistically you need a new carpet, and if you do that I wouldn't suggest white, you will never keep it clean. Hope this helps

- I have a tan carpet and discovered that Woolite OxyDeep works wonders. Then you get a heavy duty carpet cleaner and a Bottle of Resolve and clean away. If that doesn't work then you are probably going to have to get a new carpet. And don't give up after the first try.....if it is as dirty as it sounds it is....you are going to have to go over it several times.

- I would recommend using a bug bomb or spraying Raid all over your carpet and in the air. Raid works great. We went through this same problem a couple weeks ago from a kitten that we had to get rid of cause she wasn't using the litter box. If you have a cat or a dog that is urinating on the carpet that could be the cause. Or if you have kids and they spilled juice, milk, or food on the carpet that could have cause it too. That kind of stuff is a breeding ground for maggots. After you've used Raid then you'll be able to vacuum the dead bugs up. Hope this helps!
