If she can sit on her own and all, does that mean she is ready for the restaurant high chairs? (I know it seems dumb, but they have lower backs than our high chair at home and occassionally when we're holding her she'll arch her back really far and really fast.): I know the high chairs you mean and I would be concerned, as generally the straps don't work well at all. You can get portable ones that clip to tables or strap to chairs that are either cloth and very foldable or plastic. I even saw one that was inflatable.

The distance from the middle to the rear support is X and varies from 0 to D. When X is 0, then entire weight is on the rear support. When X is D, then half the weight is on the front legs and half on the support. Therefore the amount of weight in any position is F = 135 * (D / (D + X)) When X =0, D/D+0 = 1 When X =D, D/D+D = 1/2

They're still in great condition and now my 17 year old sister has them in her room! I got them for $10 each. Also, have you thought of purchasing some brightly colored big throw pillows? You can throw them around the room to sit on or lean against the wall with. Ikea has some great square ones (they call them cushions but they look like pillows) that are plain white, and then they sell covers to go over them so you can get a variety and remove and wash them when they get dirty. Plus the styles and colors of the covers change pretty regularly so if your tastes change you can easily replace the covers. For that matter- Ikea has some pretty funky chairs too, and they're usually reasonably priced, but they're not always the most comfortable.

You can get a booster seat that goes on a regular chair which will let your baby actually sit at the table with the rest of the family rather than off to the side separately. This way Baby will get to be a part of the family meal and see how you use your fork and spoon and what you do with your food and how you behave at the table. Boosters are also easier to store and super easy to take travelling with you. You can even take it with you when you go out to eat if you're nervous about restaurant high chairs. Really, pick the kind that you think will work best for you. Most of the bells and whistles on high chairs and boosters aren't really that convenient or even beneficial; they're mostly marketing. As far as a play yard goes, what are you wanting to use it for? I feel confident saying that Baby would rather not be penned, and that you'll avoid a lot of unneeded frustration if you can avoid using a play yard. An alternative would be to completely baby proof the room where you're planning on Baby playing the most (family room or living room maybe?) and turn the whole room into a type of play yard. Put a gate up in the hall way that leads to non-baby proofed areas, and let your baby be a part of your family and enjoy being in your home.

The kind that is the best and sturdiest is a post wrapped in rope. Also two sided tape placed on the lower fabric will help as they don't like any sticky things on their paws. You can also place a throw on the chair that covers the area she seems to be interested in. Another good thing to have is a squirt bottle with water close at hand. Anytime she starts to do something she is not supposed to do give her a squirt. Cats don't like water and she will soon learn what she can and can't do.
