Q:im a new rider, and next week i will got my first pony. i wanna buy some rugs for him. Couly you introduce different rugs and good brands.im in UK.xx
Is he coming with any rugs? See what he has before making any purchases. In terms of types, it depends on whether he is going to be field kept, stable kept, on a combined system and if he will be clipped in the winter. It also depends on the individual - some horses feel the cold more than others. It also depends on the storage space you have at the yard. My Connemara is on a combined system (in at night, out during the day) and has a hunter clip in the winter. These are the types of rugs he has: -Lightweight turnout -Middleweight turnout -Heavyweight turnout -Detachable neck cover for turnout rugs -Fly rug -Fleece coolers (we have a few of these as we like to keep one worn and the others clean for after bathing him when we are going competing) -Lightweight stable rug -Middleweight stable rug -Heavyweight stable rug -Duvet-type under rug -Summer sheet In the winter we layer rugs depending on the weather and the clip he has - he often starts with a blanket clip and once that starts to grow out, he has a hunter clip and requires more or different rugs. Rugs that are clean and not currently in use are left in the bags the cleaning lady put them in (we send rugs off to be cleaned a couple of times a year) and are stored in a wardrobe in a container provided by the yard we're on so they stay clean and dry. The rugs we currently use (fly rug, summer sheet, fleece, LW T/O) are hanging on racks in his stable - it may be summer, but the weather has no idea what to do so he is occasionally wearing a summer sheet or fleece at night. As for brands, it's trial and error. Our turnout rugs are Amigo and are about 12 years old and in excellent condition; our fly rug, under rug, summer sheet and one of the fleeces are Masta (again quite old - fly rug on its last legs though!); and his stable rugs all came with him. He did have two turnouts that came with him, but they got torn in the field - we tried patching them up, but they eventually died on us.
Q:Just a simple question is there any carpet cleaner thats okay for ferrets the room my ferrets play in i rearranged and was gonna clean the carpet. But i know ferrets use smell as one of there main senses so i didn't wanna clean it with something to strong any suggestions? is there a specific safe for ferrets carpet cleaner or is just regular carpet cleaner safe. When i mean clean the carpet i mean with a carpet cleaner itself not by me scrubbing lol
Any way you look at it, stuff like vinegar and baking soda seem the way to go. Use separately. If you have a steamer/extractor, run vinegar instead of carpet cleaner. You might also do some research to see if borax can be used with these machines, and if it is safe for carpets. Between uses, shake baking soda on dry carpet and allow to sit, and then vacuum it up. This is natural stuff that won't harm your ferrets. At the same time, they are powerful deodorizers that can handle the ferrety urine-y smell even when housebroken...as well as any occasional litter problems that they have. These items don't leave a lingering smell behind. Baking soda doesn't have a scent at all, vinegar has a whang but it dissipates easily as your carpet dries. Most important is that these are not chemical fumes that are toxic, even if overwhelming. As you know, you need to keep your ferrets bathed so they don't stink. And you may eventually decide to replace your carpet with something that is easier to clean.
Q:How long is the life of the carpet?
if maintained well, it could keep for years
Q:I need it to be neutral colors, like beige and cream and brown, 5 by 7, 100% cotton. I have searched the web but have come up empty handed.
Rugs USA, they have Chandra rugs that would be right on for you, sister.
Q:Rugs get little traffic in 2 of 3 bedrooms. Very thick plush Carpet One type carpeting. Any suggestions?
Your carpeting is stretching which causes the wrinkles you described. Most often this is due to improper installation. Many installers just rough cut a piece of carpet, bring it in to the room, unroll it, trim it and use a tool to kick in the carpet under the baseboard and onto the tack strips. The proper way to do it is to use something called a power stretcher which stretches the carpet from one wall to the opposing wall. Go back to the people you bought it from and see if they can get the original installer to make it right. Most carpet stores send installers a lot of business and have a fair amount of influence over them. If they refuse or the installers refuse make sure you let them know your dissatisfaction and report them to the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully you won't have to pay for this yourself or take things that far.
Q:i spilled crazy glue on my carpet on accident. how do i remove it thanks inadvance
i know you can use paint thinner when it gets on you and other surfaces. so you could possibly use it on carpet too.
Q:Besides vacuuming, how do you maintain white carpeting? Personally I have found that using a storebought steamer makes my carpets look dingier. A person I knew at one time told me about a dry cleaning method using some kind of powder. She told me she rented the equipment and it only cost about thirty dollars. I've researched this and don't have any idea where to go. Links to more info. would be helpful.
I spot clean with 409 heavy duty traffic foam carpet cleaner but once a season i clean the rugs professionally as it makes the color last longer, in fact i am getting ready to do the fall cleaning the first part of october../.
Q:Hi, I am considering byung a rug for the living room where my child will be able to play/crall in couple of months. What do you recommend. Quality? Type? Any suggestions? What not to buy? Thanks
This rug from lowe's is very soft, and easy to clean. Darker rugs would show spit up and drool stains easier. I also agree with the rug grip underneath. It will prevent a possibly very painful slip!
Q:We are currently in a rental and our dogs chewed up some of our carpet. The carpet is berber and we have left over carpet in storage from when it was installed. One chewed up piece is in a corner and the other is a long rectangle area maybe 2 feet long by 7 or 8 inches wide. That area that is chewed up is in the middle of the carpet. Is there any way to just cut out the peices and replace them with the extra carpet we have or is that not doable with berber carpet? If we can do it can you tell me how or who to contact. Thank you so much!
I have repaired a place like that. I laid out a piece just bigger than the bad spot, cut through both layers, that left the new cut an exact match of where the old was cut out. then I used the hot glue gun and glued it in very carefully. It looks good but if you look close you can see the seam. Hope this is helpful.
Q:I am about to get a foal and a light horses. Which blankets/rugs do each of them need and why?
Well since you didn't give any information as to where you are and what the weather is there we can't answer the question very well. I blanket my horse because I keep riding all winter. He gets sweaty from working and a wet horse can get sick. So I clip him to prevent the sweaty mess. As I have now removed all of his hair - he needs a blanket to keep him warm. If your horse is not working (foal) and he is stabled at night there is no reason to blanket the foal. If it is wet the horse needs protection, but their coats are warm and somewhat waterproof. It all depends, but remember that over blanketing can cause more problem than underblanketing. A too warm blanket can cause your horse to sweat and that is the last thing you want in the cold. Congrats on your new horses and good luck.
