- Q:I live in a large apartment complex which has large private pool for residents. Most of the people in the pool are kids. There is always one lifeguard on duty. There is a 6 foot high lifeguard chair, but the lifeguards all refuse to use it even though it is in excellent condition and allows them to see all corners of the pool from high up. The lifeguards sit on a lawn chair next to the side of the pool, about 7 feet from the pool. When the pool is full of rambunctious kids, it is impossible for the lifeguard to see all the kids from that angle.Can someone give me an official definition of the purpose of an elevated lifeguard chair so that I can file a formal complaint and have this matter dealt with so the kids are safe. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.Thank you
- yes, its a good idea.. this is particularly important at a one-lifeguard facility where an elevated stand provides a much better view of patron activities than the view you have from a deck-level lifeguard station
- Q:My five year old hyperactive son did what he is not allowed to do, eat in the living room. We have a white/off white Ikea Tullsta or Solsta chair (the smaller one on light wood legs). He has smeared food on there and I have tried everything to get the stains out. Tuff Stuff foam, carpet cleaner, and a few other cleaners and nothing is working. The only other thing I haven't tried is the cleaning hose with my carper shampooer because I can't find it. Is there a chemical to bleach this fabric and get these stains out or what can I do? It looks hideous. Getting it reupholstered is not an option, as that is way too expensive.
- A professional carpet cleaner would put together a cleaning solution, probably including a product with Oxy clean laundry detergent, 12 per cent hydrogen peroxide, warm water, brush the fabric, and then rinse and extract the stains and cleaning solution from the fabric. Attempting to clean this chair at home is an effort in futility. The hydrogen peroxide available to you is only 3 per cent. allow a pro to salvage this chair for you. When clean, have them scotchguard the fabric Good Luck.
- Q:i'm looking for one almost exactly like this one, but if it's not totally the same I don't mind, I want with arms like this, I want brown, light or dark blue, grey or an earthy green color but I might end up reupholstering it. - Q:I have a rocking chair that i'd like to convert to a gliding rocking chair.
- It would almost be easier to build a new chair but here goes. OK if it is a basic rocking chair you just need to get the swinging hardware and build a base. the problem is that; does the original chair have strong enough legs that when you drill them etc to install the hard ware will it remain strong enough to continue to support weight and keep its structural integrity. This is hard to explain in words. If you look at gliders they have the chair with sides/legs that come down to connect to a hanger (Usually metal) that goes back up to a base, and each end of the connection has bearings to let it turn easier. your just have to build a base that will be big enough and attach the hangers (which would be best to just buy) to the chair legs. I cant give more that directional support over typing but if you would like contact me with specifications for the chair and exactly what you want to do with it, and what tools are at your disposal.

- Q:There's a chair my grandma got at a garage sale, so its always been in really bad shape, but my dads been attached to it ever since she passed. The springs are starting to cut through the bottom of the chair and the filler (the stuff that gives the chair cushion) is beginning to go with it. I'd really like to reupholster the chair and give it new life. The thing is, I've never done any reupholstering at all. Would this be possible or would I need someone to work on it for me?
