Q:I only need points on the social issues about mobile phones :) Ty
Issues With Mobile Phones
Q:I have a boost mobile, Kyocera Hydro c5215, that my friend gave to me because my old cell phone broke but I have a virgin mobile plan! Is it possible to change the cell service? And if so how?!!!
It is ultimately possible to put a Boost Mobile phone on Virgin Mobile, but the hassle involved (not to mention the laws broken to do so) makes the answer: Technically yes, but not feasible. Virgin Mobile does not allow outside phones in their system, regardless of if other carriers have it available or not. The problem here is that in order to make an outside phone work and get by their rules, you need to do what is known as ESN cloning, where you take the ESN of a Virgin Mobile phone and put it on the phone you want to use. ESN cloning is currently against federal law (primarily DMCA laws) and some state laws as well (notably New York State). It is just easier (and most likely cheaper) to just buy a Boost Mobile phone if you want to use Boost Mobile services.
Q:I am looking to get a new mobile phone. What phone do you own? And what do you think is the best contract phone out there?
I have the cingular walkman. It was cool at first but now it's kinda boring. So on Saturday im gettin the pantech duo. It is a great phone and can slide up like a regular phone and the sideways for a full qwerty keyboard. It's kinda like the LG rumor but better. Good luck!
Q:I have a (cheap) Nokia Tmobile phone. I lost the Simcard it came with. I have the battery, charger and no phone plan. Is it possible to use as a pay as you go? Would I have to purchase a simcard from T-mobile? Can I do this without having my credit pulled?
Yes,you would simply visit the T-Mobile store and take them your phone. Tell them you want to activate it with pre pay, and they will set up service and get you a new sim with a new number.
Q:I really LOVE the virgin mobile phone, and i want to get it but i wanted to know if any virgin mobile phones are going to come out soon. By the way, i love the big screen and the design of the phone.im looking for a full smart phone and not like the slider or optimus v.P.S. my birthday is feb. 10 and i want to get it by then so any time before that is nice.its ok if its a week later ;-)THANKS SOO MUCH :-)
Honestly I would wait for a different one. I am a best bu mobile employee and i had the phone for about 4 months and just thought it could of been better. 1. The battery is so dreadful, i got maybe 4hrs out of it. 2. The signal strength on the phone was absolutely terrible. I never got more than 3 bars in places i would normally get full strength and that was on other virgin mobile phones. 3. The camera on the back would be really funky sometimes. It would show any picture i took with a blue color and i had no effects on it. 4. It got really dirty really quickly and the back cover never really fits on there correctly. I would say wait, i believe they should be getting some new phones to virgin sometime late feb.-mid march.
Q:i'm getting a new mobile phone tomorrow. I have a budget of ?150 and not sure which one to get Any suggestions? ( :
150 pounds isn't that much, you know. I doubt you'll be able to support any phone. First, you have to cover the phone cost, along with the cost for number of minutes. You also have to pay for insurance (yes, there is phone insurance). There's also all the stuff that has to come with the phone (land charger, car charger, headphones). At best you'll probably be able to get one of the cheapest phones around. I suggest you save up before buying one.
Q:HiI have lost my mobile phone. My phone was Samsung Galaxy Ace ST 5830.I heard this model has a speacial feature which let you track your mobile .but I dont know how to use this feature.I reported the incident to the police.they asked my IMEI NO and invoice. so the police said they will use IMEI NO to find it but I also would like to use the track program on samsung if there is.
If you have activated that app, then you can track it via the Internet or send SMS commands to it(I don't think Samsung supports that.) the best bet is to get the IMEI number. You will find it written outside on the box that the phone came in. So even if somebody changes it's SIM or even formats it, the IMEI will givre the police his location. If your Ace is a Duos model, (Dual SIM), it has 2 IMEI numbers. Give both of them for better probability of finding.
Q:can a military officer use mobile phone during duty.or while in office??
Yes, not only can they but many do. My wife is a sergeant, she gets dozens of texts and phone calls on her mobile every day dealing with soldier and unit issues. Often her platoon leader and commander will simply send a text message to everyone in the unit if something comes up that needs to get done. It has become standard practice with many units in the army. The main thing to watch is dealing with sensitive information that could affect OPSEC.
Q:I really hate my phone (marbl). I honestly don't like any of virgin mobile phones, although i love their plan. I love tmobile and sprint phones.
No, you can only use Virgin Mobile phones on Virgin Mobile. I've tried to put other phones on it but they never let me. I hate their phones too. Maybe you should just go with a pre paid with another provider, like T-Mobile flex pay. It's pretty much pre paid, but you have to pay full retail price for the phone, but it's worth it. :) Or ATT Go Phone. I don't know how that works really since I went with the Flex Pay, but either way you'd be getting a much better phone. :)
Q:how do mobile phones interfere with flight systems on an aircraft? why can you only use electronic devices while the plane is cruising? And how come you can use the in-built phones on planes?
They may not, see the Mythbusters reference. The Federal Communications Commission (not FAA) regulates cell phone usage and the rule is a cell phone cannot be used on an airplane. The main reason is because every cell tower in range will be tied up by your signal. where on the ground there are few towers in range. While there may be a stray chance that electronic equipment may interfere with the avionics, there is no case of it doing so. Just to be safe, follow the rules. The built in phones use a dedicated network that is designed specifically for use on planes and is designed not to interfere.
