Product Description:

Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductileand malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible lightand an excellent reflector (as much as 98%) of medium and far infraredradiation. The yield strength of pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa,while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the densityand stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

Q:What are some unushal properties about Aluminum?
Corrosion resistance due to passivation and low density.
Q:Do you feel aluminum siding has a low class image?
Brick is certainly the most durable if taken care of properly. My second choice is aluminum siding, which is far more durable than vinyl siding any day. Vinyl is simply more affordable, which is why most home have it these days - whoever decided that aluminum siding declasses a home, is full of malarky.
Q:What advantages does the ceramic panel curtain wall have compared with the aluminum sheet and stone curtain wall?
Metal plate curtain wall deformation resistance is poor, the plate strength and steel are not high enough, waterproof sealing performance is not good enough, easy to fade, deformation, also can cause light pollution. Construction and installation technical requirements are relatively high.Stone curtain wall is now used most, but more stereotyped, and negative news constantly, stone fell, heavy stones, high-rise building exterior wall of high risk, poor fire performance.
Q:Why can't I melt aluminum?
if a candle is 1000 degrees u can melt aluminum with it, it wont happen straight away, you have to give the metal a long time to heat up as it conducts heat it will take ages, you will prob let go or get bored before the metal has chance to heat up
Q:A copper-aluminum alloy has an aluminum concentration of (5.19x10^2) kg/m3.?
Densities: Aluminum: 2,710 kg/m^3 Copper: 8,940 kg/m^3 Basis: 1 m^3 of copper-aluminum alloy mass of aluminum in 1 m^3 alloy = 519 kg vol. of aluminum in the 1 m^3 alloy = 519 kg/(2710 kg/m^3) = 0.1915 m^3 vol. of copper in 1 m^3 alloy = 1 m^3 - 0.1915 m^3 = 0.8085 m^3 mass of copper in 1 m^3 alloy = (0.8085 m^3)*(8,940 kg/m^3) = 7,227.87 kg mass of the m^3 alloy = 7,227.87 kg + 519 kg = 7,746.87 kg %weight of aluminum = (519 kg/7,746.87 kg)*100% = 6.70% The alloy has 6.70% by weight of aluminum in it.
Q:aluminum can recycling question?
Yes they do. At one point there was a contest to make your own can crusher and post the video for the life of me I cannot remember what it was for anymore.
Q:Does a aluminum or steel bike frame usually cost more?
From a material standpoint, an aluminum tube bicycle is more expensive to produce. The raw materials are more expensive and the material is more difficult to weld. It started with steel, aluminum took off in the 90's, and now carbon fiber is becoming more popular. The progression has equated to lighter frames with greater comfort, but at increased costs. The increased comfort has come from tube shape factors (oval, etc.) and the strategic placement of carbon fiber in the seat stays. The material properties of steel and aluminum are highly dependent on composition, i.e. alloying elements added. If a steel frame costs more it's because the specialty manufacturer is either using an exotic alloy (Cr, Mo, V) or just gouging on the fact that there are fewer steel frame producers. Generally steel frames have better dampening properties but at a weight penalty compared to aluminum. Since steel has a higher yield strength and higher fatigue life at a given stress level so it can get away with ever thinner tube cross sections. Personally I want a bike made of Beryllium, I wonder if there is a Be-Li alloy out there (I'd have to check the valence, but not motivated right now). That would have a good strength to weight ratio, it would just have to be coated.
Q:please suggest metal similar to aluminium with casting properties?
It depends on what properties you are interested in. If you want specific answers, you need to ask specific questions. The previous answerers are not very well informed... There are, in fact, many excellent Al based casting alloys. And... cast alloys of brass, pot metal, lead, etc are not very similar to Al (but, again, it depends on specifically what properties you want). Consult your friendly neighborhood metallurgist but think about exactly what characteristics you need to have. The more completely you can define your requirements, the better someone can advise you on the pros and cons of different material selections.
Q:what is the best aluminum epoxy?
cracked where? i could suggest the wonder rods, such as dura-fix. i've used them on some aluminum repairs in the past. when the thickness of the materials is uniform, its a good easy to use product. when the thickness changes, its useless. i wouldnt think of using it on a motor repair though. melting temp is a bit low, much closer to combustion temps then alum's melting temp. the truly best way to fix anything alum is with a TIG welder in the hands of somebody who knows how to use it. but, any good welder will probably look at you like you are nuts when you bring a motor in to be welded. depending on exactly what you have, the entire powerblock, which is the motor part, might be avaible for purchase to replace your old one with. it may be priced at under a $1,000. you would end up with a brand new motor. for outboards, when teh drive is in good condition, this can be a great way to get a brand new outboard performance at a far cheaper price.
Q:Aluminum Macbook Question..?
there are none, i know i sucked it up and went to apple, worth every penny. good luck!
