It's just a cultural illusion ie. the color 'blue' is popular in Russia<and many countries including the USA but you are just seeing its use in another cultural context. Russian airborne troops were called 'Blue Berets'. Early NKVD/Cheka forces in the early Stalin era wore blue berets... There's a blue/camo used by troops in Russia...BUT it's only noticable really because one is comparing one culture to another ie. why do US police wear dark blue? Why are there so many green uniforms and green berets? Look more closely into Russian things ie. there's a great variety of colors...but blue is a popular color! I hear RED has been popular too. LOL

Q:I had never heard of Kirby until the other night when a couple of Kirby salesman came to my door asking if I wanted to have my carpets cleaned for free.

I used to own a Kirby. They are now about $1,500 to buy. I was not so pleased after awhile with Kirby. I now own a SEBO Automatic 4X made in Germany. It is truly the world's best made vacuum, with a life time guarantee on the drive belt. That only cost me $500.00 a year and a half ago, now $600. new. So well worth it. Truly. Kirby is loud, heavy, etc. My SEBO is lightweight, and not as noisy. One of the best investments I have ever made. As for cleaning your carpet -- Kirby usually only does a small area -- for demonstration purposes only. Take care.

Q:I have a pug that sheds constantly and I have gone through a few vacuum cleaners.

They Dyson Animal is perfect, but the price is not. I have the Dirt Devil Pet. It does a fairly decent job, and it has to clean up after a few Rottweilers, so I would think it could do a decent job cleaning after your pug.

Unfortunately with vacuum cleaners as with all other things in life, you get what you pay for. You aren't going to find a good pet vacuum for that price, unless you find someone selling a used but still functional one. I own a Dyson DC17 Animal. It does a great job, but also will run you close to $500. My less expensive Bissel Pet Hair Eraser was repaired under warranty 3 times and died again right after the warranty expired. Plus, it didn't clean half as well as the Dyson even when it was working properly.

Q:I have just a small apartment and need to get a small vacuum cleaner. But something that has good suction, and won't be useless after 5 uses. A few years ago, I bought a Bissell quot;stickvacuum cleaner and it was a waste. It barely picked up dirt from a floor, let alone a carpet. Any good suggestion will be appreciated.

Q:Our old dryer wouldn't dry clothes so we replaced it with a brand new one. We're having the same problem so I'm assuming the vent is blocked. I'm not very handy and I electrocute myself routinely so I want to make sure I'm not doing anything dangerous if I hop on the roof with and try fishing any crap out of the vent. Suggestions or warnings?

That is what Vacuum cleaners are made for. Run the hose into the vent and suck all the lint out. Do not insert a wire or other object, as you will snag wires and damage the dryer, maybe start a fire. If your vent goes up instead of down, it will need cleaning on a regular basis as the lint falls, not raises, and will create a blockage.

Q:Every vacuum cleaner I have ever had starts smelling burned after 1 min.of use. They barely pick up anything and I have to go over that spot 10 times.In addition I have to clean the rollers EVERY time before vacuuming. What amI doing wrong?This happens with all my vacum cleaners, new or used.

Sounds like you have a high pile carpet and your brush is toooooo low. Raise the brush with the wheel adjustment ~
