- Because he can smell the pee he did there before and now thinks it's an ok place to pee. Clean the sofa with an enzyme cleaner and that will get rid of the smell. You probably can't smell it but he can.

- I Worked in furniture sales at one point and in my experience it is cheaper to buy a whole new sofa then to have one recovered by the time you have figured in labor and cost of material.

- I don't know about the dif. betwn. Spanish and Italian but, there are definitely different grades of leather. Our first leather sofa was a lower grade than the one we have now and it stretched when someone sat on it. The higher grades wear well, don't stretch and look even better with a little patina. Make sure you talk to the salesman and ask about it. There might even be helpful sites on line. We own a Natuzzi but, there are dif. grades with them too.
