The battery pack that comes with it does not actually have any power attached to it. Batteries need to be put in it. However, you can buy a plug and charge play kit, which is a rechargeable battery with usb adaptor that attaches to the controller. Hope this helped.

yes for both. i have my since june 2007 and still works fine and lases a long time save me about $100$200 on batteries they will run out some time after so many recharges and when you get it buy a other battery park so when the battery dies you can switch to the charge one and put the dead one on the charger

How long do you need the light to run at one time? You need enough battery to keep the light going at least that long, and probably 20% more than that. It is a fact of life that good batteries with enough capacity to keep you running for any amount of time cost a lot of money. There a dozens of choices, most of which can be bought with either sort of connector. Connector choices are cigarette lighter and phantom power if this is your only device that needs such a connector, the cigarette lighter type is as good as anything else. If you have other devices that need power, it makes sense to use one connector type between them. Having some lighter socket and some XLR just makes things more difficult.

Its just the Draw of that Motor was a bit on the Amperage side. Hence causing a good workload, therefore you get Heat. Ever Notice how a Good Flashlights batteries get Warm?
