Q:I have a tan/white colored carpet..its a normal carpet, the threads are about ? inches long.One time i used a carpet cleaner (and didnt read the directions) and sprayed the carpet and left it to soak there for a few minutes...now the carpet spot is yellow...Any way to fix the unfixable?other than getting a new carpet..

I personally prefer Woolite SpotShot for those little carpet mishaps. But not sure if that would fix your problem. I have seen Martha Stewart use OxiClean to whiten and remove stains from antique table linens. When doing so, she allows the item to soak in the Oxiclean for as long as 24 hours. I don't think OxiClean would harm your carpet. And at this stage how much harm could it do? I would apply it liberally and reapply from time to time to keep it damp until the stain disappears, up to several hours or even a day. If no cleaner works, is covering the stain with a rug or piece of furniture an option? There might be some way to cut out the stained area and replace with a remnant of unstained carpet, if necessary taking the unstained piece from a closet floor or from under a large piece of furniture. But I don't know how you would secure the patch down. Maybe your carpet supplier could suggest a method or be willing to do it for you. Hope something in that helps you somehow.

Q:I am just starting to get back into horses again after about 5 years and at the moment i am looking after a friends horse while she is away on holiday.. feeding them etc.one of her hoses has an unwaterproof rug. I asked her if it rains hard, should i take the rug off to dry, if i didnt get the chance to put the waterproof rug on (the waterproof one, can only go ontop of the unwaterproof one lol)She said don't worry about it, it will dry on the horse.Well it rained really heavy over night and has been raining on and off today, i am wanting to put the waterproof rug on when i feed them dinner, but i am just wondering if i should put the waterproof one over top of the already wet unwaterproof one... if that makes any sense??

My inclination is to take the rug off and give it a chance to dry as well as to allow the horses coat to air out and dry. The heat generated from the horses body will eventually dry the rug, but will have a difficult time. After the rug and horses are dry, then you can properly put the rug on and then the waterproof topping on. Good luck. Janet

theres a product called OdoBan. In my area it is available at walmart and menards. not sure if you have those where you are but I have found it to be effective. Nothing is going to take the odors out completely, your going to have to work diligently to keep pets from having accidents on the carpet. main reason I no longer have pets. lol.

Regardless of the carpet material, if the carpet pad you choose is not hypoallergenic as well, the possibility of allergens persists. Choose a carpet pad that has moisture resistance, giving it anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties. If you are gluing the carpet to the floor, choose adhesives with low VOC emissions.

Best to shop at a retailer rather then buying one site unseen.. Visit a merchant that only sells area rugs who will explain the pros and cons . You might be able to custom make and choose your own color and design to suit your project ,,after all youre not just making a home accessory purchase...youre making a statement .

To get candle wax off of a carpet use an ice cube to freeze it and it should come out very easily Sincerely Bobbie

I keep and breed carpets I don't know any good caresheet. temperature 77-80 degrees humidity 65-70% feed every 7-10 days no daytime light is required I really recommend a vision cage for them if you can't get that tall cages are best the size depends on the species they all need a decent amount of climbing space substrate I use forest floor mixed with moss to keep the high humidity up.

Q:I installed laminate flooring in our living room this past weekend and where the laminate meets the carpet in our bedroom there is about 1 inch of a height difference.Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

If the carpet is that much higher ( not uncommon for laminate) you should have built up the laminate before hand. Not much you can do now. That correct transition pc is a carpet bar made for laminate. DO NOT use any metal pc between the to as some people suggested. The metal will make noises as it rubs against the laminate.
