Q:How to put on vinyl tiles?
To make an even floor with lost or break tiles, if you are not interest to demo late floor the most wise way is to use mortal concrete for places that there's no tile and after 4 hours that concrete get to gather make a liquorish (but not too liquid like juicer concrete ) and with on broom apply all cross of the tiles to making even between the tiles (grout is always lower than tile surface) After this operation when complete concrete get dried . Apply special glue comes with tiles (Ask when you going to buy tiles) and install your tiles ,do not let adhesive get hard and install your tile fast as you can or apply adhesive just in point that you are working on .
Q:Tips for installing porcelain tile on stairs?
don't , they are way to slippery, accidents waiting to happen!
Q:Bathroom - shower - tiles - grout?
Hopefully, all of your tiles have grout AND sealer. You can try plain ol' scrapping it off, but be careful not to scratch the tiles. Try using white vinegar to soften the grout, but be sure not to get any on the grout that you want to save. Use a small sponge, or even Q-tips. You may have to let it soak a few minutes. Also, try using a plastic scraper instead of a metal one, like a pan scraper. If you have any spare tiles, practice scraping to see if you're scratching the tile.
Q:how do i make my bathroom tiles cleaner?
If they're a natural rock, like travertine, use Tilex and scrub them with a stiff plastic bristled brush. Use a cloth with hot water and a mild detergent to take up the excess Tilex. Then put down a tile sealer after it's dried. This will keep them from getting dirty again so fast. If they're ceramic and have hard water stains or whatever on them, you can use Tilex for the grout and CLR on the surface. Put a moist cloth down and pour the CLR over it to let it soak for about 15 minutes. The hard water stains should soften and come up easily. BTW - if this is a mildew problem (like in a shower or around a bath tub), don't use bleach. For some reason, even though it kills the mildew initially, it actually fosters the return of the mildew quickly.
Q:HELP!! Tile or Laminate?
Both are good choices. Tile is more durable but its cold in the winter and harder on the feet. Laminate has a warmer feel and the pad gives it a little bit softer feel. Plus glass objects don't always break when you dop them on it. But it can be damaged a lot easier than tile. I am not saying its easily damaged, by no means, its very durable and will with stand 3 kids and 2 dogs. Laminate is also not recommended in high moister areas. As far as maintaining the floors, Laminate is easier just wipe it up a few times a month and your good to go. Tile needs the grout to be sealed and needs to be scrubbed when t gets real dirty.
Q:is it hard to take off shower tiles? i have a house built in 2000 with bathroom showers all tiled in the?
It okorder.com/... You can also just nail the WonderBoard over the top of the greenboard, but you will need the bull-nose tile to finish the edges of the board. I looked closely and I believe that is how it is done in the picture that I posted. The cement board is on top of the greenboard instead of the greenboard being cut out. You need to let a tile professional do this for you. You could remove the old tile and let the professional do the backer and the new tiles. If you watch him work, you could learn how to do it yourself.
Q:How to choose a tile test method?
The simplest is to pour the cup of water and then buckle the tiles to see how his water there is no printed and then is the sound of the sound of boring stuffing brick on the poor quality of the sound of crisp sweet is good brick is the density density is greater the more solid
Q:Glazed tiles for floor, good or bad?
Living room, a comfortable place ... Tile is hard and glazed tile can be extremely slippery when wet.
Q:what is best adhesive for pool tile?
If you are redoing your tile,it means they have fallen off from one of two things: 1)movement.....clean the areas where tiles fell off with alcohol, then use silicone to put tiles back on and colored silicone for the grout....wipe excess silicone off tile face with scour pad and dish soap..looks fantastic and gives a little with movement! 2)water got behind tile..you must first fix mastic around pool or area where water is getting behind tile, then put tiles back on as above....the area must be bone dry before you atempt to put tiles back on....alcohol helps dry and clean..
Q:Which is generally cheaper? Wood or tile floors?
Usually tile, but it depends on the type of tile. A high grade, through body porcelain tile with rectified edges will cost a LOT more than say a low grade ceramic 12 x 12. You can find a great porcelain tile at like Home Depot in an 18x18 size for pretty inexpensive. Just don't have them install because they'll charge you double what any handyman would. Wood can be high or low grade as well. Laminate flooring has come a long way and is much more durable than wood, as long as you find one that looks good. They actually have a better PSI (pounds per square inch, which tells you the weight it can withstand) than wood and they don't scratch near as easy. There are some higher grade (and very expensive) woods out there that are pretty durable (don't scratch easily). If you buy wood flooring, go for Anderson, they have a great reputation and terrific construction technology. Oak is the cheapest wood, then maple, then anything else. I love the look of light maple or dark oak.
