Would that be overkill or should it be done?
- Regular cleaning of your carpet in that way not only gets it clean, but helps to prevent dry rot. You should clean it with an extractor at least once a year.

- when you're trying to remove a spot, you need to subtract, not add. vaccuum the carpet when it's dry. then use a damp white towel. If this isn't doing much, you can go to non-ammonia windex or rubbing alchohol. avoid any other detergents or over-the counter spot removers, as they can set spots in or cause bleaching(and yes, oxi- labeled cleaners can do that too). some spots are permanent, but if you avoid harsh chemicals, a pro will at least have a fighting chance. Using the harsh chemicals can eliminate that chance.
- Q:How do you get nail polish out of carpet? My basket of nail polish got knocked off of my dresser and a bottle of metallic burgundy polish broke and leaked all over my light blue carpet....Help!!!
- I have another suggestion. Two products that are more concentrated that nail polish remover; -- Goof-Off (NOT Goo-Gone). Try local hardware stores or Ace; big-box stores don't carry this, I think. -- Bestine. Try Art's supplies stores. Both of these are very heavy-duty cleaners; you HAVE to have serious ventilation, like open windows and fans. But they are fabulous cleaners for tough spots. I blotted an ink-pen leak off of a raincoat with Goof-Off and it was like it had never been there after one blot. I also got some stuff that looked like melted silly putty out of carpet at rental property with Goof-Off. It took repeated pours/blots with a lot of paper towels, but it did dissolve the stuff. I found out about Goof-Off from a construction contractor. I think Bestine is raw chemical in nail polish remover. It is used to dissolve rubber cement and clean paste-up wax in graphics shops. I used to work with it, and it's a nasty but effective chemical. Just read/follow precautions on their labels, and be sure to test for color-fastness. If you do use one of these, be prepared to bag up the rags/paper towels etc. in several layers, and get them OUT. The fumes will permeate regular bags, and fill up your house and give you a major headache, aside from the risk from fumes igniting. I kid you not, be careful. They do the job but they are DUE respect.

- A few years ago, (in her stall overnight) my horse has managed to take her blanket off and it was laying on the ground with all of the buckles, 2 criss-cross surcingles 2 elastic legs straps still buckled/ in tact. The blanket fit her good wasn't too loose. I still wonder how she did that...LOL. Magic mare? Now I always buy closed front blankets/rugs without any buckles (need to put over the horses head) haven't had any problems.
- Q:I'm looking for a rug that I've seen on TV many times, yet I can't find it anywhere on the internet. It's a large brown area rug and it has a huge white/cream hollow circle on it. Like the outline of a circle on it. I may have seen it on the Jeff Leis show one time, but I've seen it other places too. Please help?!?!?
