Q:For workshop i want to make an easy wooden chair, that a year 9 would be able to do. Can you give me measurments, and pictures would be great and diagrams. THANKKKKS.
Get a 3/8 brad point drill bit and bore both sides that you want to hold together and stick a 3/8's wooden dowel in there with glue on it and clamp it together till it is dry........It will take you a little time, but it's worth it.........I just fixed two of my own.......people don't like to lift their weight when moving and it tears them up......the other thing is young kids like to lean backwards and that is hard on wooden chairs. You can buy a doweling jig........and I have one.......but if the chairs are ornate it takes a little thinking.......if they are straight then the jig will help you make it easy.........just measure and mark everything. Good luck and have a nice xmas. You also need a drill motor with the brad point bit.....just go slow.
Q:I either need a HUGE chair, or a bench seat with casters. Here is the issue....I'm not big, but am trying to share my office chair with two puppies, LOL. They can lay on the floor, but c'mon, they are just furry people after all!

Q:they support us to the extent of our desires every day, hold us up when were down, only break if we are super pissed at someone across the hypothetical table, etc would you please pay homage to your chairs right here on answers
I respect my chairs very much. they always got my back. hah. im so lame. i make me laugh. =) but yes i would like to take a moment to thank every chair that has supported me in time of need! Thank you chairs.
Q:does anyone know what a wavy looking lounge chair that was big in the 70's and the 80's is called... they were furry and the inside was made of foam ....you use them inside probably in the living room or den. i have seen one or two a couple of years ago and am looking for one now but don't know the proper name to call them so it has been real tough finding one when i don't know what to ask for. also, if you know what i am talking about, can you tell me where they sell them and maybe a website or phone number....
I think you refer to the French antique chaise lounge chair, this is not too easy to find but I believe if you go to Ebay you will find it, there are many sellers of antique furniture there, just search for the name I just gave you..?
Q:older chair back and seat cover
Every chair is different so there isn't a pattern. Typically you have to make your own based of fitting the fabric to the chair, add stuffing and then tack it in place.
Q:I have a stupid fear of electric chairs due to some bad dreams about sitting in one. I'm not a bad person in the death row or anything; I just have an irrational fear. I can't even look at an image of an electric chair without getting nauseous or fainting. Because of this I don't really like sitting in any chairs. Help me! :(
Well first of all I don't believe your fear of sitting in an electric chair is abnormal. You couldn't tempt me into one either! It was used as a symbol for death for many many years here in the US. It was held up as the ultimate price one would pay for doing something serious against the law. So the fear was ingrained in us even as little folks. I don't know your age, but my generation sure wanted nothing to do with the electric chair, and all the ugliness that goes with it. Do you have a fascination with death, as I notice the name you use here on YAN is Korpsie, and that is like asking for trouble. Why would you entertain such a name, when you claim to be afraid of the electric chair? It doesn't jive! It doesn't make sense to me. Your fear, or fascination, with death has overtaken your belief system. It has frightened you so much you are not even willing to sit in ordinary chairs. That is the irrational fear (not the electric chair!) Try to desensitize yourself by allowing yourself to sit in a sofa, or couch, and then move on to a few minutes in a chair, and then keep on doing that until your fear eventually goes away. You may need some therapy to deal with this problem. You spoke of bad dreams about electrical chairs. You know dreams are symbolic? Try to remember your exact dream, as then we can ferret out the real reason you are afraid of an electric chair. Earlier in your Life were you electrocuted by live wires of some sort? Something happened to make you very wary of electricity. Try hard to remember what it was, and then tell it to take a hike, because it's messing with your Life. OK? Good luck to you!
Q:The ink is from a belt. The color from the belt left the belt pattern on the leather chair.
I was looking for this answer just today, and 10 mins ago, I just tried Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser sponges to clean black ink from a ballpoint pen off of a light yellow leather chair, and it worked perfectly! After that, I just used my leather conditioner so it won't suffer, but these sponges are the best! I've used them before to clean stuff from my walls, it's great! Good luck!
Q:I have the necessary equipment to remove the old fabric and polish the wood frame. Do you guys know a bout an online guide or video tutorial that features a chair with challenges similar to this? PS: I know a pro would be better, but the nearest wanted $1400 for the job, which I'm not intending to spend.
those buttons can be tied to the back of the chair before the rear section of the chair is covered == use some heavy string that will pull those buttons to the depression to make those tufts ... I have never done this so if it does help you {{sorry 'bout that}} SBT .... go the book store or the public library for the old books that will give you the best info ...........
Q:Hey, Im looking to buy my husband a gaming chair as an xmas present.. there are so many to choose from... looking to spend around ?100 ... any suggestions for the best one?? Thanks :-)

Q:fabric chairs
Your question needs to have more information provided in order for me to assist you better. When talking about chairs, have you looked on the underside of the seat area to see if it is screwed down and removable? Or are they like parsons chairs that are completely covered with fabric from the seat to the back of chair? You need to be more specific on type of chair before I can tell you how to do this. If the seat portion of the chair is removable(look underneath, and unscrew screws holding it on) Take seat off. Place seat of chair faced down onto fabric of choice, cut out fabric using chair seat as guide. Draw up side of fabric to be sure you have ample fabric to come to bottom of chair. Wrap seat as of you were wrapping a gift and staple with heavy gage stapler. Screw back on seat. If this is a solid fabric chair, consider buying slipcovers or making your own out of sheets.
