Q:HOW TO TREAT RUG BURN?
Rug Burn
Q:What is size rug would a 14.2hh connemara type pony need? Also what basic rugs would a pony whos turned out and stabled need? Thanks
The best idea would be to measure your pony. You need an ordinary tape measure and you measure from the centre of his/her chest to the point of the buttock in a straight line. (I had a 14.2 pony who was 6' 6 and that is unusual - if I'd just bought average for him it wouldn't have fit so safest to measure.) How many rugs you need depends on how much you want to spend as they will quite happily spend the night in an outdoor rug if you can't spare the cash for a stable rug as well. If it's not a problem then I'd say a stable rug, a good quality turnout rug and a wicking cooler.
Q:hi,i am getting a new horse this Thursday, there are no rugss tack or anything like that included, so i need to find a good make of a rug in uk and i need a head collar so please could you help me ! any awnser appreciated thanks !
I'm not in the UK, but I just wanted to add my advice: Spend the extra money on a halter with leather over the poll, if not an all-leather halter. Even if you're not turning out in a halter, the leather won't damage your horse if it should get caught up in something or freaks out when tied when you tack up. Also, you need to get the right-sized blanket, which means you need to measure him/her. If the tack shop is going to be open when you bring him/her home, stop there on the way home if he/she is going to need it right away and measure then and there and try stuff on in the trailer (travel in either a stock trailer or a two-horse with the middle divider removed, or a slant-load).
Q:How to clean the coke on the carpet!
apply detergent on dirty places, rub over and over again, then absorb the water after it is clean, finally blow it dry with hair dryer.
Q:I'm planning on helping my dad put some new carpet in our family room. We measured it and its ABOUT 13.5ft by 13.5ft. Any body know how much that would run for? And our current carpet is the very thin outdoor/indoor carpet. Its ugly and needs to go.
You will need about 22 yards. You can figure that by assuming that you will buy piece of carpet that is 15 feet wide (they come 12' and 15' wide-using 15' wide will avoid having to piece the carpet). 15' wide will go in one direction. You then divide the other measurement 13.5' by 3' and get 4.5'. Now divide 15' by 3' =5'. Now multiply 4.5x5=22.5. That is how many yards you will need if you get carpet that is 15' wide. Average carpet runs anywhere from $10. to $30. per yard. At $20. per yard, the carpet will cost you $450. Padding and installation will be extra. I have seen some great deals at Lowes and Home Depot adn they offer really low prices for install.
Q:I have a Palomino/Arab 2 Thoroughbred X Race Horses, We are in the process of having Stables built on the field which should be ready within 2 weeks. I feed the 3 of them twice a day, once in the mornings and remove the rugs, one in the afternoon/evening and replace the rugs. They have waterproof lightly insulated Castle rugs that seem to be keeping them warm but I can't help but worry about them. When they are in the Stables should I just use quilted Stable Rugs when it gets really Cold? What rugs/food do you suggest for different seasons for these type of horses. The Palomino is 1yr4months and around 14.3 with a good weight, the thoroughbreds are 6yrs old 15.2, 7 yrs old 16.1 with poor weight due to coming from the races I want to do my best to fatten them up and provide them with a calm lifestyle. Thanks Alot.
Have okorder and look at the supplies. Also the owner will answer questions you have. It's a great site and Trish has been doing this for 30 some years.
Q:I need a 10' x 6' or 11' x 7' area rug. the rug will be underneath a table and chairs with wheels. lots of traffic in this area. what should I look for? what type of material? who is a good manufacturer of area rugs?what retailer sells good ones?
first of all, are you looking for an heirloom piece? Try oriental rugs or persian rugs. Very costly. Can set you back a couple grand but will increase in value over time. you need to look behind the rug for the quality. You are looking for handstitched and lots of detail, etc. The most important characteristic for me is durability and washability. Some you can put into the washer, others need special cleaners, some are spot clean only. The second characteristic important to me is texture. I like plush soft carpets that you can walk on with your bare feet. Of course, color choice and design are important. (floral? transitional? contemporary?) I like transitional. I'm a fan of Mohawk and Shaw area rugs. You can find them at Home Depot. Reasonable prices for machine made rugs.
Q:Okay, i accidently spilled purple koolaid on a white carpet :-(. Any ideas of how to get it out?
I'm sorry that I do not have personal insite into helping you! Good luck! 030408 3:19
Q:How do I clean the red carpet?
This is the way the five star hotel banquet hall with, you know, the banquet hall, is a carpet, the carpet is the end of the wedding, what, second days is not clean, they do, but they are more professional equipment.
Q:Doesn't carpet bombing subdue countries quicker and with less casualties than other methods?
Of course it has greater civilian casualties, which is why the US has been developing the smart bombs. The bombing of civilians is a great tragedy, none can deny. It is not so much this or the other means of making war that is immoral or inhumane. What is immoral is war itself. Once full-scale war has broken out it can never be humanized or civilized, and if one side attempted to do so it would be most likely to be defeated. That to me is the lesson of Dresden, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
