- Q:What are some fast skateboard bearings bearings?
- If you can spend a lot of money, bones swiss ceramics are the best bearings out there, but run around $120-160. Any bearings that cost around $20 or more are fast, but brand-wise the highest quality are bones. By standards, bones reds are the highest quality for the price. Almost every skater uses bones reds. They cost $20 and are better than flip, panther, and other bearings at the same price. They are quite a lot faster, and a lot more durable as well.

- You get bearings. Bearings are one of the only part of the bike that actually do follow a mostly industry standard. Unless you're one of those roadie freaks who wants ceramic bearings, just go to your LBS to get replacements. Specify if they're for the headset or for the hubs or the bottom bracket, and the shop will send you on your merry way with the right ones.
- Q:Give a detailed procedure of maintenance of electric motor bearings and the effects of overgreasing?
- There's a few different thoughts on greasing motors so its subjective mainly in regard to doing it running or not running. A big problem from overgreasing is if the bearing gets pressurized. This will lead to premature failure. Also extra grease can be forced in among the winding which isn't great. Some motors, especially larger ones, have plates to remove so that you can tell grease has made it through and to prevent pressurization. The manufacturer will give you the best guidance on type and amount of grease, procedures etc for their motors. Also be careful if the motor has been worked on so may not have original grease and some greases don't mix well.
- Q:How can I measure to see what size main and rod bearings I need, I know to use plasti guage but from there how do I decide
- Proper way is to mic the journals for size. But in many cases you can still read print on back of old bearings. Originally there would have been (std) printed on back of bearings if they are standard or original size. If crank was turned say ten thousands, bearing would have (.010) printed on back for undersize crank and so on for different sizes.
- Q:Car was making grinding noise while moving. Replaced both wheel bearings and the noise went away. Drove car for 2 days then suddenly on the highway the noise comes back. I was told I toasted the bearings because I didn't use the specific torque setting on the hub nut. Does anyone know the proper settings and procedure? Could it be something else?
- I would recommend that you get a chilton or haynes manual from a parts store. They will have a detailed proceedure for exactly how to do this. It may be that you failed to grease pack the bearings correctly.

- Wheels - Orangatang Stimulus/Durians Bearings - Just buy reds bearings, the only difference you will notice in bearings is how often you will have to clean them. I tried Bones Reds, Bones Super Reds, Bones Super Swiss 6. You'll save money getting the reds bearings. Trucks - Randal R-II, Bear Grizzly, Paris Deck - Earthwing Supermodel/Superglider, Landyachtz, or Rayne Board Personally, your speed only depends on how hard/fast you push. If your going downhill, you will need trucks that prevents speedwobbles earlier on.
