Q:So i recently got a new engine and tranny for my 1992 honda accord. (engine swap h22a) runs great. but i noticed it makes a loud humming noise after i release my foot off the pedal. This happened i THINK before i got the engine swap too. but that was like 2 years ago so i dont really remember. it was sitting in my driveway for about 2 years. my new mechanic says its the wheel bearings. The engine and tranny r fine and run and shift well but even if im going 30, or 70, when i take my foot off the pedal it goes....huummmmmm, going down. Humming decreasing. He heard it and said the front wheel bearings need to be replaced. What do you think? thanks.
That is very correct its the wheel bearings
Q:I am replacing the wheel bearings on the front axle of my 98 cherokee and I want to know if the Timkin brand wheel bearings for $150 each autozone will make a difference over the valucraft ones for $99 each. Is it worth the extra $50?
Timkin bearings are the best brand out there. Timkin bearings are considered prime choice. Go for Timkin.
Q:got a subaru outback 97, 174k is great all round except for is making whump whump noise that gets faster as car speeds up, squealing noise coming from wheels not assciated with braking or acceleration. it gets wobbly if the car gets to 70mph and when you reverse it makes a grinding noise. also in low gear it clatters from the engine somewhere, but stops doing that as soon as car is going and warmed up.anyone know whats happening, how much do you think it'll cost to fix if you do?thanks,
That's what it sounds like, a bad wheel bearing. It's been bad for a while and I believe it is so loose you are damaging other parts in the wheel. Impossible to give a quote until it's seen the extent of damage.
Q:cylindrical roller bearings
The rolling elements of the bearing are shaped like a cylinder.
Q:I am interested in cleaning my roller blade bearings so that are free of sand.I saw a recommended video to wash the open ball bearings in acetone but I need some help understanding how to get my bearings to run their best.I found some nail polish remover and I am planning to wash the bearings in a small bath unless anyone knows if a more pure formula of acetone might be safer.I'm still doing some research and I found some chemists on the internet mentioned balancing the alcohol to water ratio 1:1 with acetone sort of like with mouth washthey also mentioned that methyl acetate and how it might help to filter it out. I'm wondering I'm now interested in seeing how acetone might react with sand (SiO2) but I'm actually thinking it might just dissolve it.What does everyone else think? Is there a better way to clean bearings? (excluding lube)
Absolutely none of the liquids you mention will react with SiO2 or dissolve it. There is nothing that will dissolve SiO2 that won't also dissolve your bearings. The point of the various bits of advice is that the acetone (or whatever organic solvent) will dissolve the lubricant in the bearings which is holding the sand grains there. Whether you use nail polish remover, or acetone (diluted or not) or gasoline or kerosene or maybe even alcohol doesn't much matter. (Although in all cases you need to observe the safety precautions about inhalation and fire hazards, and keep the solvent off of the upper parts of your roller blades.) Your goal is to remove all the oil (or whatever lubricates your bearings) then let the bearings dry completely. Then you should be able to remove any left over sand by brushing it out of the bearings with something like a soft brush or blowing it out with compressed air. After all the sand is removed, you need to re-lubricate your bearings. (I've been assuming all along that your bearings are metal. If they are not, you need to be careful about your choice of solvents, lest you dissolve your bearing too.) I doubt there is anything else you can do to remove sand from your bearings. In the long run it's probably easier to find a place to roller blade where there isn't so much sand.
Q:I have a leak and need to know help please.
it sounds like your axle seals are leaking. usually the bearings are ok.you should inspect axles for pitting where bearings ride, if ok bearings are. as for an actual answer there are 2 each of axle, diff carrier, pinion bearings, for atotal of 6.
Q:And can u also tell me how to clean abec 9 bearings? and grease them?
The preferences are based on what works for you. For cleaning the bearings, I use lamp oil (desented kerosene) because it cleans out anything. I then wash it out with denatured alcohol which also dries the bearings. If you use a water based cleaner like citrus cleaners, do not soak them overnight since it can damage the bearings. Almost anything works for lubricants. Super light things like the sprays don't last very long. Some people spray them every time they go out. Oils roll quickly right away but are not as waterproof as greases or last very long. Greases are slower at the start but will last a lot longer. Use very little. A drop or two of oil or a few pin head sized blobs of grease.
Q:I'm buying this old classic 1983 yz125 for like 200 bucks. The guy said it needs a piston and bottom end bearings. I'm just a little confused on what bottom end bearings are. Like crankshaft bearings? Also if you know where I can find parts for an 83 that would also help to lol.
Depends okorder /.. They can also be purchased at a bearing supply store.
Q:i have the money its just that i don't know which ones to bye
For a skateboard deck, you cant go wrong with getting either a girl or a chocolate. i have had both and I loved them both. They were the two best boards that I had ever had. They have great pop and awesome durability. I will always ride these two boards and nothing else. For your wheels, you cant go wrong with getting spitfires. A lot of people like spitfires, and once you have a pair you will love them. For bearings, you cant get any better than bone reds. I just recently got a pair a few months back and they are still in very good condition. They are fast and they roll really smooth. And last but not least, the trucks. I would recommend getting the thunder hollow lights. They are one of the best trucks that you can get. Well, I hope this helps you out man, and keep on skating!
Q:I need muffler bearings for the wobbler shaft, tingler valve, and kanoodler valve where o where can i find these????? Also what size of a left handed arked fiddle wrench will i need to install the headlight fluid?????
Bearings okorder . Wrench size is 7 ohms (metric, a 5 lumens std. will work as well).
