Q:I just got a 2003 yamaha r6 and realize only the left side of the light is on but the right side isn't (at low beam). I put on high beam and the right side lights up (left side is on all the time). Is this the way the r6's are designed?
Yes. Low beam, one light. Highbeam, two lights.
Q:I am 39 years old, 5‘ 11 and 200ish pounds and looking to buy my first motorcycle. I want a cruiser and have narrowed it down to the Suzuki c50, Yamaha Bolt, or Kawasaki Vulcan 900. Any recommendations for one over the other or am I dealing with a personal preference? The C50 was my first choice, but I am thinking the Vulcan might be the better choice due to front and rear disc brakes. Recommendations?
Have you actually sat on one? The Yamaha Bolt is a Harley Davidson Iron 883 clone. Both are Standard, not quite a Cruiser -- have your feet more to under you instead of the foot forward position like the C50 or a V-Star. They are also about 50 pounds lighter than the cruisers. I sat on a 883 Superlow and found it physically too small -- and I am 5'9. If I were to get the Bolt I would just get the Harley Davidson The Suzuki/Yamaha/Kawasaki 800-950 are close enough to not matter. The C50 is the only one with rear drum brakes, not that it matters, still better than you will ever need. It is also the only with liquid cooling, which is better for emissions, if you care, I don't. I prefer cast wheels with tubeless tires, less troubles. You might want to check out the Triumph America, similar size and price.
Q:Motorcycle project bike help.?
This is too much work for a person with little motor mechanics history. The carbs don't just need work, they are not there! This bike has never run in it's current state, and needs a whole lot to get it going. The set of carbs is likely to cost more than you paid for the bike. If you were to complete the project, you would have much more than the bike is worth.
Q:Okay say i am in third or second or even first gear there is a stop sign coming up how do i brake correctly?do i hit clutch hit the rear brake and slow it down and once stopped hit the gears all the way down to first? or do i brake n while i brake hit the gears down?
the mind boggles; I cannot even begin to imagine how many accidents that system would cause.
Q:Ive been looking at the ducati monster 696, but I have no motorcycle driving experience whatsoever. Is it that much diffrent then driving a car? HELP!?
Big difference. You need to develop more driving/situational awareness and always think that drivers can't see you (they don't!). On the mechanical side, riding a motorcycle is a big difference. All your extremities are involved. You've got one foot handling the rear brake, the other handling the shift. The hands control the throttle, the front brake, and the clutch, plus the minor stuff like turn signals and horn. If you can drive a manual transmission car, you can probably handle a motorcycle. But if you're like a friend of mine I tried to teach to drive a manual transmission car, he never could figure it. No co-ordination. He'd never make it on a motorcycle. My personal comment - if you're a first time rider, I'm not sure I'd recommend it for first time rider and it's fairly pricey too boot.
Q:I ve never been into motorcycles,or even ridden one but I recently inherited one and have been warming up to the idea of riding it. Although I have a new found interest in motorcycles i m still a little skeptical about riding one. Is all the hype about motorcycles being death traps true? Or is it just as safe as riding a car if done carefully? I know anything is possible but getting some advice from real motorcycle riders would help me out. The bike is a 1974 Honda cb550 and has 50 horsepower. Also, i m in the Los Angeles area if that makes a difference. I ve never ridden a motorcycle, but I for sure plan on getting lessons, protective gear, etc.
Only for the stupid, or the reckless. Some words of advice for a young man with short road experience in a pretty dangerous area: Start with getting licensed, and for you that means the CMSP rider's course. www.chp.ca /programs-services. Park the antique, ride a more modern bike until you gain some skill. That's not meant to be derogatory in any way. The suspension, handling and drum brakes are not up to what every cager rolls in today. (it's why I no longer drive my '71 International) Riding in traffic requires 360 degree awareness at ALL times - you do not get to look at the pretty girl on the sidewalk. Cagers rely on insurance to cover their responsibility. You must rely only upon yourself. Insurance may pay to repairbut neither motorcycles nor humans are the same afterwards. Fixed aint original.
Q:how long does it take to stophow far does the bike travel during the stoping timeexplain and show ur work plz
COLD SUPPLIES THE WATER HEATER LOW PRESSURE FROM THERE DIAGNOSE THE HWH - PROBABLY REPLACE - CALCIFIED
Q:Did he put the motorcycle as a brake line?
is due to a serious overload, under the action of gravity acceleration, increased vehicle inertia, a direct result of brake failure.
Q:Do i need a motorcycle license to ride a 49cc pocketbike legally in michigan?
Definition of a Motorcycle A motorcycle is a two- or three-wheeled motor vehicle with a saddle or seat that produces more than 2.0 brake horsepower and can attain speeds greater than 30 mph on a level surface. Some vehicles, such as pocket rockets or mini choppers, may meet this definition, but do not have all of the equipment required by Michigan law to legally drive them on public roads and will not be registered by the Department of State. www.michigan /sos/0,1607,7-127. 257.32b “Moped” defined. Sec. 32b. “Moped” means a 2- or 3-wheeled vehicle which is equipped with a motor that does not exceed 50 cubic centimeters piston displacement, produces 2.0 brake horsepower or less, and cannot propel the vehicle at a speed greater than 30 miles per hour on a level surface. The power drive system shall not require the operator to shift gears. www.legislature.mi /(S(3j2m0i2. No license reqiured. It won't be registered by the state. It's not a moped. To ride a pocket bike (even a super pocket bike) legally, you must ride on private property with the owner's permission. Might as well get a dirt bike.
Q:I have a Hyosung gt250r and recently broke my brake handle, do they sell universal brake handles?
No they are not universal. They are model specific.
