Q:What do you think of my one-liner?
They love Suckers I guess
Q:is there a name for fear of vaccum cleaners? because I KNOW i have it! ever since i was an infant i would screem frickin bloody murder in my crib when my mom would run teh vacuum cleaner. when i was jsut a small child i would run from it, afraid it would suck up my toes. and now, today, at 14, i cannot STAND the loud noise they make and i do NOT put my toes in front of one. it takes me a few moments before i can even bring myself to turn it on. the bigger, louder they are, the worse my reactions. sometimes at work (i volunteer at a veterinary hospital) i have to ask one of my co-workers to do it because i will purposly busy myself just to get away from it.please, do not laugh at me. it's embarrassing enough and i just want to know the name of it.thankxx! :]
Hooverphobia? j/k ... a fear of vacuum cleaners is not as rare as you may think. If you are afraid of them when they are NOT running, that might be a bigger problem. My advice is to record the sound of a vacuum until the sound does not bother you. Then try to just stay in a room where someone is using a vacuum, but where you feel safe, or your toes do anyway. After that, put y our feet on the floor as someone vacuum's around them...with shoes at first! This is a method used frequently with people having phobias such as yours. Good luck, Kristi
Q:I've had my Dirt Devil bagless for only a few years. It was running just fine before we moved to our new house. Our new house has berber carpet. My vacuum does not move well on this type of carpet with a lot of dragging. What is a smooth flowing vacuum for very low carpet?
I recently purchased the Dyson Animal. I was shocked at how much dirt that this thing picked up. There are no bags, just a canister that you empty. It is pricey, but you will be impressed on how well it does.
Q:Why do cats hate vacuum cleaners so much? We have three loud kids in our household, dishwasher, washing machine, motor bike etc and the cat doesn't worry. Start the vacuum cleaner and that is a whole other story. She will bolt and hide under my doona. Why do cats hate them so much and has anybody ever had or met a cat that doesn't mind vacuum cleaners?
our cats hate them too. I think its because there louder the washing machines and dishwashers. motor bikes are loud but they are kept out side or in a garage not inside. I also think there scared of them because you move them about and they might think you you will hit them with it or suck them up (lol) or something. No need to worry if your that worried about it put them in a different room or put them out side. All cats are the same!! Our cats hate them our white cat runs and stays on the window sill and the other stays on the sofa!!
Q:anyone know how well the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum works?
bissell very good make dont go near a dyson my mom had 3 different dysons hoovers that blew up. And if u take a trip to the rubbish tip ull find even more of the buggers more of them than other makes.
Q:It's really a simple engineering principal, four fixed wheels like to go in straight lines. Where as a ball can move it in any direction. So in clear choice, easy turns with minimal efforts, or do it the old fashioned way. It's quite amusing that a vacuum cleaner and its complexities completely destroy Evolution. And yet it's treated as fact, sigh.
Vacuum cleaners EVOLVED from fixed wheels to a pivoting ball, yet we still have both. And *boom* goes the dynamite.
Q:Iam supposed to do costing for a modification that we are doing for a hand held vacuum cleaner, the modification is an retractable arm.I want to know how are hand held vacuum cleaners manufactured, (forging, extrusion, injection molding??) What would be the cost??Any help thanks
Look at the hand held vacuums they have in the store. If the housing is plastic, it is a 99.99% chance it is injection molded. If it is made of metal it could be extruded if it has a constant cross section along its length. Aluminum is a very common extrusion metal. I would doubt any high volume hand vac would have a forged housing, but I don't get out that much. Casting and machining is a possibility. As far as costs, it all depends on the life of the tool, and the number of cavities for a mold or a casting. If you mold/cast one part at a time it is much more expensive than two or four or eight. The more you mold at once, the bigger the molding/casting machine and the more expensive the mold/casting. So it depends on how many you want to make in a given amount of time, and how many through the life of the product. Finally, for your modification, do you have a design with drawings and a volume target? That is the first step to figuring out costs.
Q:What's the Cadillac of vacuum cleaners?
Dyson's... I have few of those.. each cost more than $399
Q:I really need a cheap vacuum cleaner for an art project exam,I know they can't sell them in most charity chops, I've heard the council may do some kind of scheme where they take used or old vacuum cleaners and give them to poorer households, I'd like to know more about this. Or if anyone has a broken or old/used hoover that they'd like to donate I can collect, I live in the Yorkshire area of England and would really br grateful it :]
Hi,I'm not that sure but at my local rubbish depo they sell electricals including vacuum cleaners...I suggest you go to your local depo and ask.If not you could, yes, carry on looking into the council scheme. Jake
Q:I want to know if they make such a thing. I'm thinking of a vacuum cleaner but besides vacuuming, it sweeps floors and it mops as well. Do they make this? If so can anyone tell me where they sell it and what it's called? Links would be extra, extra helpful!
Based on personal experience, avoid multi function floor cleaners. They are too heavy and do not perform any function well. For basic mopping, I love the scooba (the robot). Carpet, especially where pet hairs are a concern, the bagless Hoover Windtunnel. Hard surface floors, a canister and/or the irobot.
