The formulas for combining capacitors are the opposite of resistors. The link below will assist you in computing the kVAr needed to improve your power factor. I'm not sure what you mean by 0.8 ohms. Some utilities expect customers to have a power factor of 0.80 or better. Others expect a minimum of 0.85. If the utility bills in kVA, then customers quickly learn that near unity PF will save them money.

Any suggestions?: As is, if the parts were replaced correctly, about 225 horse power. For one thing, Seems like the modifications were intended more to make the truck loud instead of more powerful. Loud does not always equal powerful. Did the installer simply slap on a few random parts or did they take the time to tune the engine and jet the carburetor? If the installer failed to jet the carburetor with these changes the engine could have actually lost about 15% power and fuel economy. Let's face it. Horsepower costs money. At least if you want to make any serious power. The biggest restriction on the Gen 1 SBC was not the mufflers or the intake, it was the cylinder heads. You can't make any serious power on a smogger SBC with the factory stock heads no matter what cam, intake, carb, or headers you use. But the problem is that a decent set of aftermarket heads cost big bucks. A decent set will set you back a couple of grand. But all in not lost if you are mechanically inclined and got the guts. You can port and polish your own heads to make them flow better. If you are a little mechanically inclined this is not out of the question. While you are at it you can do some port matching. Q:I just recieved a Harbor Freight generator with an 800/900 max watt capacity as a gift. I want to use it to power a 29 foot travel trailer (lights, microwave, tv, fridge, radio). I will be living in it so I want a way to give it power 24/7. I know this generater is not big enough to do that, but could I possibly charge 2-4 deep cell batteries to do the trick? I don't know much about this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.: I fear that the generator is absurdly small for what you want to do, especially if you look at the noise, running time and normal usage conditions. In particular the fridge is going to cause problems as it needs to have power all the time. With considerable care in selection for low wattage and in what you have on at any one time, you can probably make do, but many microwaves will use up all the power the generator puts out. Using CF bulbs will give you a lot more light per watt. The batteries will give you the blessing of silence, but you are only going to be able to about 19 Kwh per day out of the constantly running generator so the batteries can only be charged when you are using less. Exactly how you manage the load will be interesting. You will need an inverter to get power off the batteries to 120 AC, a regulator and charger that interact to get the generator 120 AC down to battery voltage, and meters or reference notes as to what you are using.
