Q:Radius 3m, length of chain and chair 2.5m.Mass of rider and chair 100kg. (8 chairs riders)a)Determine rotational speed when chair is at 30 degrees to the verticalb)How many g's does a rider feel?I have the final answers, but don't know how to get to them.Using trig I get a total radius of 4.25m then I get stuck! Please help! Thanks
I assume the top of the chain is anchored to a point which is at radius 3m Let the force in the chain when in the 30? position be F then vertically downward force on rider chair = Fv = 981 N = F s30? so that F = 981/0.866 = 1133 N The horizontal component of force on the rider = Fh = F.sin30? = 566.4 N Radius or rider at the 30? position = 3 + 2.5sin30? = 4.25 m Fh is the force produced by rotation and = m.ω?.r giving ω = √[F/(m.r)] = 1.1544 where ω is the rotational angular frequency. So rotational frequency = ω/(2.π) = 0.18373 revs/sec = 11.024 r.p.m.. The rider experiences total force F = 1133N. If he were standing still he would experience 981 N, so g force is 1133/981 = 1.155g. This is the total force on the rider, including his own weight. The extra force he experiences due to rotation is 566.4/981 = 0.577 g – the answer you are given.
Q:I can snowboard perfectly fine down the slopes, I have no problem with balance or turning or anything like that. But every single time I get off of a chair lift I eat s**t. I try and do everything the people tell me, I even got a grip on my board but my boots slips right off, and my board is shiny which again makes it super slippery. I have tried putting my foot against the back binding but again my foot just slips out of position as soon as my board touches down on the snow ramp thing.! In the end I had to ask the guy to stop the chair lift and let me off so I didnt injury myself some more. Please help we are going up again in a few weeks and I dont wanna stack every time. Thanks any help is appreciated.
Try halfway sticking your boot in the straps like how someone wears a shoe while stepping on the heel part, wearing it like a slipper. Try to hook your free foot on some loop (probably the backstrap). One thing that'll really help is if you tighten your front foot(the one that's strapped in)'s ankle muscles, that'll make the back more rigid and easier to work with. You could also try to lean backwards a little, so that you have more weight on the back foot, planting it in place. While riding up the lift, right before, knock off excess snow so that you decrease chance of slipping. Good luck.
Q:Should people who are over weight have to show proof of disability to use the electric wheel chairs ?? and do you think wheel chairs should be for people only who are realy sick with disability?
No they shouldnt stop them. Do you realize that obesity is considered a disablity for some. Most people who are overweight have a very hard time walking and using the carts to transverse a store is a very helpful tool for them. If I were overweight I probably would use one too but no one should stop them because they are. The stores need to get more carts like them if they are running out because their are a lot of people who need them.
Q:For Christmas this year I want to do really personal gifts because they are the most fun and I think people enjoy them the most. So I was thinking for one of my friends I would go get a chair from good will and paint it and make it look like hello kitty because she loooves hello kitty. I want the back of the chair to be the face of hello kitty. Any ideas of how I could make it looks like that. I want it to actually take the shape of it not just be painted on it.

Q:If I have a CIS cyclohexane (with 2 cis substituents), would that translate into a CIS chair conformation (with both substituents pointing in the same direction)?? Or are they completely unrelated?Because when I try converting cyclohexanes to chairs, I end up getting the trans conformation...The lowest energy conformation of cis-1-4-(1,1-dimethylethyl)cyclohexane is not a chair. Why?^^For the above question, the answer is because ONE of the t-butyl groups is in an axial position...BUT when I draw the cis cyclohexane and convert it to a chair, I get BOTH t-butyl groups in opposite-direction axial positions...which, I know, isn't the cis conformation. Is it not possible to convert from cyclohexanes to chairs? Like, having a cis cyclohexane DOES NOT translate into a cis chair conformation??
For your first question, you are likely drawing your chair conformer correctly, but interpreting it incorrectly. Are you equating equatorial and axial positions as trans? Cis substituents are sometimes in equatorial and axial positions - you can tell that they are cis if BOTH are the upper or lower subsituent. The substituents are trans if one is in the upper position, and one is in the lower position. I wish I could attach a picture to this answer to show you better. For your second question, you are probably drawing it incorrectly. One will be axial, and one will be equatorial. Remember to number your carbons so that you are drawing your substituent on the right one. tert-butyl groups are very bulky and will add a lot of steric hindrance to your molecule. In this case, a boat conformer will actually be more stable! Cis cyclohexanes do translate into chair conformations, but this particular molecule is more stable as a boat.
Q:Are there any office chairs that are built so that you can lean back in them?

Q:Last night on Smackdown, as Batista was beating on The Undertaker with that chair, Tod Grisham made the comment that we've never seen The Undertaker beaten like this before (or words to that effect). Yeah I know, announcers generally say things like this to build hype for an upcoming PPV match, but Grisham would have us believe that nobody ever had the guts before to repeatedly hit Taker with a chair.I know the Undertaker has been beaten down before by at least one chair attack that was worse than what Batista did. I won't name it because I want to hear from you. Does anybody remember that chair attack? Who was the perpetrator? And can you list any other times when Taker was beaten down by a repeated chair attack?
Well There is Brock Lesnar i think he has beaten Undertaker up with a Steel Chair.Because that was like a signature to Brock. I think Triple H did it once,on there feud during Wrestlemania 17. Rated RKO were owning Undertaker in the 2007 Royal Rumble with a Steel Chair too.Along with Shawn Michaels. Mark Henry at Smackdown before Edge Cashed in could be one of them.I dont remember if he used a chair though. The Unamericans beat up Taker with Chairs too in the past. I'm sure The Rock has done it too during the Attitude Era If it's not any of those then i'm wrong but nice question lol
Q:i've got a 5 year old Staples deal that cost about $120 and it's not cutting it any more. If i want to get serious about a home office chair, what is a good brand/model?
If you can afford it, Steelcase chairs are great. I've bought two over the years and they offer great back support and have many adjustments available to fit your body type. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. I figure with as much time as I spend in an office chair, it's a wise investment.
Q:Is there a website where you can make your own chairs. Like office chairs.
Hi okorder /
Q:I am re-doing my dining room chairs and would like to know if 5lb. density 2.5 in. memory foam would be a good choice or should I just go with medium firm 2.5 in. regular foam. I am going to wrap the foam in batting before I put the fabric on the chairs. Also would 2.5 inches be thick enouph or should I do 3 inches? Please give details as to which foam would be better and why.
I would stay away from memory foam for dining chairs. Folks move around, get up, sit down too often for there to be any benefit to having memory foam on a chair, and I can see where it would be a major PITA (literally!) to not be able to turn in my chair comfortably or to have to REsit myself in the molded-to-my-bottom cushion after getting up to get more rolls, or whatever. I'd use regular medium density foam and I wouldn't use more than a 2 slab of it... especially if you're going to wrap the foam w/ batting before applying fabric. If the cushion is too high/bulky you risk folks having to dangle their legs off the edge of the chair (think of Lily Tomlin's Edith Ann sitting in the big chair), or having an uncomfortable pressure point at the back of their thighs that could cause legs to go numb.
