- I was on the power lifting team in high school and was in the 101 weight class and benched 145. So I think that you are doing good. My advice to you would be to do more strength training with lighter weight that way you can lift the heavier weights with ease. try to do anywhere from 55-65% of your 1 rep max, 3-4 sets fo 12-15 reps. this should help you on your ballistic power as well as overall strength. Lifting lighter weights is not just for toning but is also for building strength. Lifting heavier, as you already know is more for building mass.also make sure not to drop below 90- degrees when performing any kind of press or fly moves. The reason being is that you have a small muscles called the superspinatus muscle that is the size of your pinky. when you drop below 90-degrees you put and undo amount of stress on that small muscle to try to lift 250, all you are doing is stressing it and once yo stress it enough you will eventually snap it and you will not be able to do bench press for a while. This is the leading cause of most shoulder injuries because people are not aware of what they are asking that muscle to do. you can strengthen this area by doing rotary cuff exercises with no more than 5 lb. weights.
- Q:i am an older female (56) and need to be able to bench press 75 pounds. I do not have a gym membership, and wonder if I can start to accomplish this with dumbells and if so how
- To do a bench press you need an exercise bench. You take a weight in each hand then lay down on it face up (so you're parallel to the floor), put your legs at right angles, and then you push upwards and outwards. 75lbs is a reasonably heavy amount to lift in a bench press. You may have to build up to that, which would take a few weeks or months of working out every other day and eating lots of protein. Personally I'd say it's easier to lift a 75lb barbel than 2 ~38lb dumbbells because one arm may be stronger than the other and it's easier to balance because you don't have to worry about sideways movement. Put yeah, to do a bench press, you defiantly need to purchase a bench.which would cost you about ?50 from argos and then then weight would be ?40 for dumbells and a barbell.

- I think that the perfect cookie press is Biscuits(Marcato) made in Italy. It has two settings for cookie thickness and is not at all finicky when it comes to the dough. It is made of Aluminum. I also own a Pampered Chef cookie press and I am happy with that one also.

- press on nails are great for a short evening such as a dance or dinner -- but don't expect them to last 2 weeks. they will start coming off the next day have to be reapplied. Don't reapply a nail -- you could get a nail fungus.

- Q:okay so i weigh about 160-165 5'9 and im 13 and in 8th going to play freshman football in may. Bench press is a big problem cuz i think i can only do 115 so i want to not only get stronger in my bench press but all in squats,hang clean ect. i do a weight lifting program and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to work out like bench press,hang clean,and all that stuff in the morning in my garage and also do weight training that same day around 5:15pm? (i would wake up around 6:30 to work out in the morning in my house cuz i have a bench press in my garage and i have school at around 8 so what should i do i play online i need to get STRONG!!!!!!!!!!
- theres no point in doing two weight sessions in a day hitting the same muscle group...it would lead quickly to overtraining and you dont want that. Be patient and progress will come. Remember that you need to overload your muscles at each training session, you need it to be intense to shock your system and you need rest to let your body recouperate. Other exercises such as squats and cleans will actually help your bench press in one way or another (they are full body movements) and so will hit muscles that you use during the bench press. So to summerise there is no need to train the same body parts twice a day, in fact it would be detrimental to your performance on the football field, so take it slow, increase the weights gradually and keep a training diary/ log so you can keep track of how much weight your moving. - a press is a big machine that presses out components like panels for a car door etc, the setter is a person that sets the machine up for doing this, like getting the measurements right and the press parts all in the right place ready for manufacture
