If the pressure relief valve is not used, the system pressure will rise to a dangerous level, which may cause the engine to be damaged.The oil pressure reducing valve is composed of a valve or a ball and a coil spring. The oil is sucked in the strainer and sent to the oil filter. When the fuel supply pressure increases with the engine speed, the pressure relief valve opens. At this point, the oil enters the inlet side by way of the bypass from the exit side to maintain the specified pressure. Since the stiffness of the spring used on the pressure reducing valve is very accurate, the maximum pressure of the oil pump can be guaranteed. If the stiffness of the spring increases, the oil pressure will increase. But the pump will not increase the amount of oil discharge.In addition, the following factors affect engine oil pressure:1. the speed of the oil pump, the oil pressure increases with the speed increase;2., the viscosity of oil, the greater the viscosity of oil, the higher the oil pressure;3. oil gap, bearing clearance will hinder the oil pump boost. When the bearings wear, it is difficult to form the appropriate pressure.
