- Q:His illness came on suddenly and he's been a vegetable for over 3 weeks, his family and I are all in agreement that his sister should be the decision maker as to his treatment, etc,and the hospital recognizes her as the decision maker, however, there is no power of attorney documents. I know she can go to court for guardianship but that is costly. I think she should have access to his bank accounts, etc and without a legal document, the bank won't work with her.( he doesn't have a lot in the bank to begin wtih but the bank won't budge) His family thinks she should just wait til he passes, then figure out finances. The doctors are not hopeful that his condition will improve.He can live like this for years. Is ther anything she can do to close his bank accounts, or at least have more rights?
- Unless you were married to your ex and are still married to him, you have no legal say in what happens to him at all. His biological family need to go to court and petition for either guardianship or conservatorship since he didn't leave either a power-of-attorney or a living will. And frankly speaking, until a family member (or the Public Guardian) does this, the family (including the sister) has no right to access any of his money in his bank accounts. And the bank is right to refuse this access! If his sister (or other family members) want access to your ex's finances, then they must go to court. If they do not, I think you will find that the hospital's social workers bring in the Public Guardian themselves to provide protection for your ex's fiances. And by the way, that money can only be used for your ex's care. It can't be used to benefit his family or anyone else before his death. And if they do use it for their own interests, they could face criminal charges. Oh and as for waiting until he dies, even then if there is no will, then the monies/assets will be distributed according to state law and not according to how the family wants. Good luck.
- Q:I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally edition. My car is equipped with power locks and keyless entry(unfortunately the previous owner broke the remote and never replaced it). But I got the car used and the power locks have not worked since I bought the car.I have checked the fuse that is supposed to coordinate with the Power door locks(Bank 15, 15A) and it is all good. even replaced it with a brand new one for good measure. I have taken the door panel off and checked the connections to the switch that is in the door and found that there were no loose wires or bad connections.Please help me in knowing what I need to look into next and where I need to go or what I need to do to get my power locks to work again. - Buy a cheap phone case then glue it to the back of that. Use a strong plastic glue and a hard plastic (not silicone) case. That way you can remove it from the phone easily and it will be strong enough to resist everyday use.

- Depends on the type of power or energy. Assuming electrical energy You want to measure energy not power, as power is a rate of energy production. Easiest is to get a watt-meter, but it has to be sized for your voltage and type of output (AC or DC), and you also need a load resistor (or resistor bank if the output is high). The watt-meter, which is actually a watt-hour meter, multiplies voltage by current to get power in watts, and multiplies that by time to get energy. There are other ways, such as thermal, but that only works short term. So you need a watt meter plus a load resistor (or active load), both sized for your wind turbine. So first thing is to determine your voltage and max current output, then size the watt-meter and the load.

- Connect a high power AC current meter or watt meter between the output and load. Connect a voltage meter across the load. Increase the load until voltage drops below 10% of its rated voltage. Read the wattage or current from meter. Or calculate it W current X voltage ( obtain from meter) The simple way without those expensive current meter or watt meter and variable load Connect some known wattage device like heaters in parallel one by one until you see the voltage drops down 10% below its rated voltage. Add all the loads wattage is the approximately answer.
- Q:I am working on a device to be powered at a remote village in Africa where power is scarce and the power grid shuts on and off all the time everyday. The device works fine but now I need to consider how to power it. My device doesn't consume a lot of power. It is a microcontroller that operates at 5V and maybe draw around 1A of current. We are going to install a solar array with a battery bank for backup power for the village. If I want to go simple, I can just plug in an ac adapter to the wall, but I don't want to consume any of the precious solar power if a 220V-5V ac/dc power adapter is not efficient. Or I can use my 20W/16.5V/1.2A penal with a battery, which should be more than enough to power my device day and night. I have done a lot of googling but I still can't find a proper way to charge a battery with a 20W panel.Any input regarding the best way to supply power to the device will be greatly appreciated!
