The III generation biomass burner promoted in July 2014:
1. We use the casting modularized hearth. The boiler core is the only thing to be replaced in the post maintenance of burner. It is cheap and easy to change the modular fittings.

- Q:Im looking to change a heating system from forced air to hot water/baseboard. Im a plumber. I work for a comp., I install boilers but I never had to size a boiler. Im putting in about 140-150' of baseboard in a small 2 story house. I'd love to put in a Williamson 125000btu (or so). Is that too big? The houses old furnace was 110000btu.
- If it has foam lagging on it make certain you scrape it off, as maximum scrap retailers will halve the fee in case you dont. additionally if it has any limescale in it the broking will deduct extra .
- Q:Hi I have a WEIL-MCLAIN CG SERIES 11 GAS FIRED BOILER. With baseboard heat. One thermostat for apx. 700'. Had 3 of the vents not working. I bleed them with a screw driver and did get one of them to work. Now it seems it's overheating to between 180 200 degree's. Needle show it should be about 140 degrees. Pressure is between 12 20 pounds. Any suggestion on what to try next???Thanks.
- Hello, If you have baseboard heating then your boiler should be operating between 180 and 200 degrees. Venting the baseboards is a good start but it sounds like you still have air in the zone. The system should be purged at the boiler through a purge set-up, (ball valve and boiler drain combo), Each zone should have one. I have books on Amazon specifically for hot water heating systems, if you need some info on purging the system. They can be found if you search my name, Robert VanNorden on Amazon; all under 7 bucks. - Q:recently had repairs to the cost 560quid. Why is it that heating is ok but when we run a bath it runs hot for 5 secconds then goes of and then back on again sometimes it locks out and i have to keep resetting it it is a combi and its called ace high by halstead. should i invest in a new one. Also weve had this problem before and the engineer did fix it for a short while. He did say there was no guarantee thet what he did would rectifi. Never had problems before but could it be getting damage due to being in my garage??Thanks in advance

- 3 t/hr? What are you talking about? Most boilers are rated in mm BTU/hr. If you're looking to get a boiler like that though you may want to look in to the outdoor woodburning hot water boilers that you can use to heat homes. You can't burn oil in them but you'd be alright with wood and rice husks.

- Q:My boiler stops working if the heat doesn't need to run for a while. Like during the day web no one is home we turn it down to 65. Same at night. We have to hit the reset button in order for it to start working again. We just had it cleaned thinking that was the issue. Plz help. We're cold!!
- Some of the modern boilers get confused when there is a lot of wind because it makes them think that the gas-output is behaving irregularly. I suppose they are designed to do this as a safety or efficiency mechanism. Restting the system each time this happens is the only way to correct the problem. ..... other than buying a new boiler. - something is blocking the flow of water, and needs to be corrected. This is to prevent the boiler from boiling dry and damaging the unit. You will need to open some fittings to see where the water stops.
- Q:what could be wrong with the boiler/heating unit. i have to empty the bucket every day.
- It might be the relief valve or the regulator is over pressuring the boiler. Check the water pressure in the boiler. If it is ok, turn off the power and water supply ,relieve the pressure in the boiler and drain it below the level of the TP valve. Replace it with a relief valve rated for the boiler. Make sure the boiler in full of water and purged of air before it is turned back on. The pressur regulater/fill valve should be replaced if the pressure is too much. If the boiler is overheating call a pro now.
- Q:I just bought a home with a steam boiler. I love it! Heats great. What i do not love is the noise that comes out of the steam release valves. It sounds like tea pots in each room. If i turn them so the release is pointing to the floor they are much less quiet but tend to drip a litle. Put them at an angle or pointing 90 degrees they just make noise. Is there a way to remedy this. I cant keep getting up every time it kicks on to turn the damn things. It drives me batty!
- Have you bled air out of the system? Any steam heat system will make SOME noise from the expansion of the metal as the super heated steam rises up the cold pipes and into the cold radiators. However, if you are getting loud knocks and banging, you may be able to bleed the radiators and alleviate some of the noise. Also make sure you have just the right amount of water in your boiler...too much and when it heats up, some rusty water will be forced out ,damaging your floors and carpets. You can even ruin the ceilings below upper floor radiators.
