Q:on average whats cheaper tile effect laminate or actual ceramic tiles?
If you compare the laminate in tile, tile is more expensive because of its durable but it always depend which section are already installed by laminate flooring and how many sq for ceramic tile installation.
Q:re-tiling a shower?
I have retiled a couple of showers, and this is basically what you're in for: You need to remove all of the old tile. This could require removing the grout, but you may be able to use a scraper and get the old tiles off without removing the grout. Then you will be replaceing the sheet rock that was under the old tiles (make sure to use green board it's water resistant). This will give you a new and smooth surface to put up new tile. Then you need to get your tile, grout, plastic t-shaped spacers, and fast setting tile mortar. You can buy pre-mixed mortar, or mix your own (pre-mixed is easier, but a little more expensive). Use a mortar trowel (the kind with the saw toother edges) to spread a thin layer of mortar evenly on a section of wall. Then place the tile and use the plastic t-shaped spacers to keep the seperated, and even. After the tile has had time to set (the next day in most cases) mix up your grout, and apply it to the edges of the tiile. This will be messy, but don't worry, you can wipe the grout right off of the tile surface. After the grout dries, you want to use a grout sealant to make sure the grout is resistant to water. Unsealed grout will deteriorate, and also grow mold and mildew. hope that helped... it can be a bit challenging if it's your first time, but doing it yourself can also save you hundreds in labor costs.
Q:Self adhesive tiles?
This can be done but, the big but.....the floor, the existing floor has to be super clean. Go to Home Depot and get a gallon of Armstrong: Latex primer. As I said, clean the floor real good, make sure there are no dips that are sharp or humps that are sharp. No grains of sand, these will look like mountains under the new tile, it's best to do this in stocking feet. Always checking for dirt and brushing all the time. Do not put the new tile over the same line but cross them. Before you start, put a good layer of primer down with a roller and wait for it to dry completely. If there's spaces between the old tile that are quite far apart, I have used a filler to fill these.
Q:When and how to tile under the refrigerator?
1. Should have been done days ago. 2..Under present circumstances I would install all tile EXCEPT beneath the fridge. 3. Then, after open house, newly laid tile will have had a least a week for the adhesive and grout to fully set and cure, 4. Gently tilt the fridge backward to raise the front wheels [or casters or whatever] off the floor 5. Install a metal sheet [the thickness of the new tile and mortar and the width of the casters (wheels) under the fridge] under the front of the fridge and butted up against the new tile. This is to protect the edge of the new tile when you gently roll the fridge out of its cubbyhole in the cabinetry, 6. Remove the old floor covering, and clean and prep the floor. 7. Install the mortar and new tile, leaving the fridge out until the tile has set, and then 8. Replace the fridge.
Q:who wins at scrabble, highest points or out of tiles?
The person with the highest number of points wins the game, regardless of who runs out of tiles first.
Q:Is it difficult to lay ceramic tile? Can you use the same tile on the walls that are on the floor?
I would recommend getting a professional tile setter to do the job but I will give you all the help I can if you want to DIY. In the shower you should use tiles that are on a mesh. Reason being a shower in not level. The edges are higher than the drain area so the water can go down the drain. You will need a wet saw, and certain tools to do a tile job. This web site has tools, Side bar with how to etc information, a DIY section that has a how to video, and other free informative information. Hope this helps you, good luck.
Q:what are tiles for in RuneScape?
construction
Q:painting over ceremic tile?
Replace the old ceramic tile with a new countertop. It is not very expensive if you get Formica. Check all the new patterns and styles they have. Like I said, it is the least expensive thing you can do for your kitchen and makes a world of difference to the looks of your kitchen. We had ours done a year ago and I couldn't be happier.
Q:What are the external wall tiles?
Outer wall tiles are mainly used for the decoration and protection of exterior walls. Color specifications are rich, outside the wall specifications are 25 * 25mm, 23 * 48mm, 45 * 45mm, 45 * 95mm, 45 * 145mm, 95 * 95mm, 100 * 100mm, 45 * 195mm, 100 * 200mm, 50 * 200mm, 60 * 240mm, 200 * 400mm and so on.
Q:labor cost for installing 50 quare feet of tile?
Tile labor usually runs in the 3/5$ a s/f range. Doing a back splash usually closer to the 5$ a s/f .. This is a labor intensive job ( not hard just a lot of cuts etc) and with that amount of s/f it will run a day and a half, maybe 2 full days with the grouting and clean up.Any one telling you different isn t doing quality work. This price doesn t include the tile, adhesive or grout. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
