Q:In sims bustin out people are always saying in order to get married you need a love rug. I look at everything in buy/build mode. Do you have to unlock? Can someone please tell me where to find the love rug?
You do not need to buy a rug in order to get married. There is a bear skin rug in buy mode / decorative that you can relax on and make-out. To get married in Bust Out mode, you just need to be in good relationship and in love with someone from the Tootie or Frootie household. Then you can just ask them to marry you. If they are hungry, need to pee, etc. they may refuse. If you are in Freeplay mode, 2 adult sims already in the same household cannot get married, but you can ask sims in a different house to marry you if there are 3 or fewer sims in the household already. Freeplay has a 4 sims per house limit.
Q:The rug does lays down and doesn't roll back up, it just keeps quot;crinklingquot; up and Ill pull it to straighten it out and 5 min. later its all wrinkly again......it lays on carpet, what can I do?
Time and gravity is your solution. If you plan on having your rug in the same position for a while, then it is worth applying some pressure to the rug. Move some furniture, bookcases, weights. You need to weigh down the whole rug, not just the corners. Put extra weights on the corners though. You could even turn the rug upside down and put the weights on it for a while. The idea is to erase the rug's memory of being rolled up. Another tip is to hang the rug over a clothes line in the sun for a while. This will flatten it out. Make sure the color and pattern side is not facing up to the sun or it might fade.
Q:I recently had new carpet installed in my home, and I was confused that the name of the color I picked out at the showroom was called quot;Fawn's Leapquot;, but 3 weeks later when the installers arrived, the tag on the carpet roll was named quot;Creston Winter Minkquot;. I called the carpet store and asked them if this was the same carpet I picked out since it seemed a bit lighter in color. They assurred me that it was the same carpet, and that the factory that made it uses that name, whereas the store uses the other for generic purposes. I kept a swatch to compare later on at the showrroom. But is this common with the carpet industry?
This has happened to me with drapery...I think it's quite common, the colour was exactly the same.
Q:I need an area rug for my living room and here is a picture of my inspiration room compliments of Pottery Barn. The carpet in my living room is like a beigeish oatmeal color. I also have small kids so something that could hide stains easily would be nice. My walls are white and my woods are Cherry...suggestions? Any specific hints in picking out a rug?
Braided rag rugs are especially nice for concealing stains and blending with most any decor. They're also especially good for anyone with allergies because they do not have backing made with formaldehyde and thus don't give off the awful smells.
Q:What about vinegar spilled on the carpet?
Use salt to roll down it and you can clean it.
Q:My sister has a 9x12 area rug that laid flat on hardwood floors and now that she wants to put it on carpet, it curls on the edges and bunches in the middle. Is there any way to keep it flat? It's a beautiful rug, but right now she has it rolled up against a wall.
Tell your sister to roll the carpet on the side that she wants it for a few days this will solve the problem or as Joe suggested lay the carpet upside down for a while.
Q:Cleaning methods of several common carpet stains
If you want to use carpet long and keep beautiful, in every day must also pay attention to cleaning, cleaning, such as the discovery of local carpet stains, local cleaning should be carried out immediately, or a long time will be difficult to remove, is likely to leave a permanent trace of carpet.
Q:theres a burn mark on my carpet about the size of a silver dollar and i want to try and replace it whats the best way to go about it?
Do you have any spare carpet from when they installed the carpet? You can cut a small section out and match it to the spare carpet, then use carpet tape to reapply it. Or you could cut a small piece out of the back of a closet and use it to patch. It would be a lot easier to just put a nice throw rug over the burn mark though.
Q:Okay here's the scoop. My wife recently talked me into purchasing a 8 by 10 $600 throw rug for our living room. She said it would look nice when guests come over and it does. The carpet has a lot of light colors in it as well as some dark and here is where the problem is... I want to roll up the carpet so it's against the wall when its just regular everyday traffic and roll it out only when we have guests. My thinking is there's less chance of it getting spoiled andd it would extend the life of the carpet My wife thinks I'm crazy!!!!!!!!!!!$
Yes, you are being overprotective but its understandable. You don't want the rug to get spoiled and the best way to ensure that is to use it minimally. BUT. Its your home. And if you buy something to make your home look better, you're doing that so YOU can live in a better, prettier home :) the rug isn't there for your guests to appreciate it, it's there for you to appreciate it :) so maybe you should just leave it there and not roll it up and put it away'
Q:I have a puppy that is a year old and she still isn't fully potty trained(shes a lot better than she used to be, but still has accidents) plus i have a toddler and normally have many other children here- leaving spills and stains. So for the past year I have used my carpet shampooer A LOT but am now concerned that it may have mold under it or in the padding. my mother keeps telling me they aren't a good thing to use and they will create mold. So I am wondering if it would be moldy and if so how I can get rid of the mold? Thanks!:)
If the carpet isn't hairy, and you don't smell anything odd, tell your Mom, The carpets fine. And get the dog trained, or that will cause an odor. She's old enough to be completely housebroken.
