Q:we need to know if we don't connect the red wire and just cap it off.
Well, is there a red wire in the fan to connect it to? If not, then you should probably ground it. If it's an older house, you should call an electrician to test it and make sure. You wouldn't want to risk hooking up the wrong things.
Q:What Spark Plugs and Wires would optimize my MPG? 2000 Bonneville SSEI
AC Delco plugs wires. Using substandard low end aftermarket cheap junk doesnt help your vehicle at all also replacing spark plugs wires really doesnt improve your MPG unless its misfiring badly
Q:I attempted to change a bathroom fan to a new one with the help of a friend. He disconnected all the wiring without paying attention to what he was doing and what was wired where. We have a set of wires coming from somewhere (I presume the fuse box) to the fan that is hot regardless of the switch being on or off. That has a black, white and naked wire in it. Then we have another wire that comes from the switch that has black, white and naked as well. The fan has black, white and green. Can someone please tell me how to connect these as we have tried everything and the only thing that works is wired to the constant hot which of course won't allow us to turn the fan off with the switch...
Follow Eaglewatcher's instructions and not only will it work, but you will be in compliance with the National Electric Code. When ever a switch is fed with a black and white cable the white Must Be used as the Hot. And it Must Be Permanently Identified as such. Most of us use a sharpie or black tape to do this. NEC Article 200.7(C)(2) Good luck.
Q:whenever i try to connect two electrical wires by twisting them together, i hold the two wires paralell to eachother, grab them with needle nose pliers and turn it. it never seems to work though! if anything, it just breaks the wire and i have to strip more insulation! what am i doing wrong? thx
What gauge is the wire? Is it stranded or solid? Each type of wire has its own method. You can't really twist solid wires because as you have seen, they stress and break. If you do get them to connect they can loosen up create a bad connection. Electronic places have special connectors for these. Stranded wires are not usually a problems with twisting.
Q:I need the wiring harness color codes for a stock radio in an 08 ford mustang. an original forum i looked at said that there would be a green and purple one but i didn't see that. Please help!!

Q:I just bought an exhaust tip with leds which needs to be wired up to the brake lights on my mazda 626. Can somebody tell me which colour wire it is (positive) on the wiring to the brake light? There are a few wires and I dont know which one it is! Thanx
Its either red or green, sometimes white if there is a black ground wire.
Q:The light fitting I bought has 1x Red Wire (A) 1x Green Wire (E) and 1x Blue Wire (N)...
The green wire is just a ground wire, black is usually the hot wire, that would leave the blue wire as the neutral wire. The white wire in house wiring is the neutral. The two red and one black from your wall is not standard in the USA, but it may be 220 volts. What kind of light fixture are you replacing, is it on a ceiling fan?
Q:Need to wire three ceiling fans in series
NO, you do NOT need or want to wire multiple fixtures in series. You ALWAYS wire fixtures in parallel. You most likely mean you want to wire three ceiling fans to be controlled by a single switch. Since you failed to actually ask a question, I will guess you want to know NOW to wire them. The answer is EXACTLY the same as wiring one ceiling fan, with the 'live' wire from the switch extending to each fixture. If that is not enough to help you, I STRONGLY recommend professional help.
Q:how i do that?please help.
it's Hard to saay without looking at it or at least knowing what kind of engine it is and what kind of fuel injection system it has and knowing exactly what you're trying to do. Those models I beleive had 4 or 5 different injection systems. If you can tell me exactly what you're doing or what the truck is doing I could help you more. Sometimes they can be a real *****, on my car you have to practically tear the top of the engine off to even LOOK at the fuel injection system
Q:have black (hot) and 2 whites from the house. Got Black,green.blue.and white from the fan. Any clues on how to wire this? There is a light switch involved. I know to match the colors but what do with the blue (light) wire is beyond me.
The blue wire is the supply connection for the fan motor, simply connect this wire to your homes black wire. ( blue and black from fan) to the black wire in the box. Splice the two neutral ( white ) wires together. If you plan on using a dimmer switch use one with motor control. Green is your ground connect it to the bare copper wire in the box or screw Its a good thing you picked up on that white wire at first glance I was thinking the fan had 2 whites, .. You will have two switches if one of the white wires in your box is a switch leg, if there is two switches, make sure you separate the wires in the ceiling box, place a marrett on each individual one for safely, turn the switches on remove one marrett a time test with a multimeter white to ground to identify you hot and neutral
