Pull back the covers and smooth out the sheets. Pull them tight at the corners if you have to. Remove the pillows, and pull the blankets up one by one. Pull them straight and smooth them flat. Tuck any in at the foot of the bed that have come loose, fluff the pillows, and replace them on the bed.

Yes aspen pine and cedar especially. Use tollhet paper and news paper. I also give my rats yarn to nest in.

Honestly, the best (and cheapest) way to go when it comes to ferret bedding is old t-shirts, sheets, and towels. They last forever, are more comfy than bag-bedding, and they can be washed and re-washed to reduce stinkiness. My ferrets love burrowing in old towels and sheets to go to sleep when they're not in their hammocks. Plus, bag bedding like Care Fresh gets EVERYWHERE. Tina could be right about ferret claws getting caught in terry towel loops, but, personally, I find that it's not really a problem. At least not when you keep your ferret's nails trimmed like you should be doing anyway. I wouldn't recommend using ANY sort of wood chips for bedding - not even Aspen. Ferrets have sensitive skin and the oils from the wood shavings can irritate it. Also, and this is why Aspen isn't the best choice, ferrets have sensitive respiratory systems and the dust from any wood chips can aggravate it. For litter we use Yesterday's News. It is recycled newspaper made into pellets and it comes in 20 lb. bags for only about $16. Isn't that Care-Fresh stuff, like, $10 for an itty bitty bag?

Oh my, I feel sorry for you. Bed bugs are horrible. I think you need to call a bug exterminator. You probably could kill any bed bugs that are in your bed linens by washing in hot water with bleach, but they live mainly in your mattress during the day I think. If you live in an apartment then your neighbours can have them too so even if you killed all the bugs in your apt. then they would just come back. If you live in a building you have to contact the super-attendant or building manager. If you live in a house you will have to call a bug exterminator anyways, wash all your bed linens in hot soapy, bleachy water and maybe throw away your old mattress and buy a new one. Try to figure out where the bed bugs came from too if possible to avoid a re-infection. Good luck!
