Q:We used a black light on our carpet last night and found black spots. When we turned on the lights we didn't see the spots. What stains turn black under black light?

Protein stains, such as urine, blood, semen, will glow with a whitish tint. I've checked a thousand carpets with a black light,in total darkness, mainly to assess the extent of urine contamination so a decision can be made to either treat the stains or tear the carpet and pad out. I have never come across black stains as you describe them. In any case, even after extensive hot water extraction cleaning, the glow will remain. In your case, whatever caused the spots you see is probably long gone from the carpet, just the residual effect remains, which is permanent.

Q:I have the area rugs on the top of carpet. and sofa was on it. now the sofa is moved and rug is wrinkled badly. how to unwrikle it? I placed heavy books on the wrinkles, still they are not smooth and I trip over them. thanks in advance.

Hang the rug up if you can and spray it with water and see if you can work the wrinkles out by pulling of them. Good Luck

Use Genesis 950 Concentrate. It is designed to actually break down stains. It works great. I had paint stains on my carpet for months. Nothing got it out, it only smeared the paint and made it worse. A friend told me to try the 950 and it got everything out. I was in shock. I would imagine if it can take up wall paint like it was nothing, then it would do the same for a nail polish. I might try it tonight just to see - that's how much confidence i have in my answer!!! It has cleaned up cat puke for me. Completely taken out cat urine from carpet. The stuff is amazing. It does everything. I spilled shattered an entire bottle of A1 Steak Sauce on my carpet. The 950 got it ALL. Try the pint size, but seriously, once you use this, you will never want any other cleaners. I even put it in the rug doctor when I clean my carpets.

Burning carpet and just about any burning material puts off deadly poisonious gases. If caught in a building they may disorient you to the point that you can not escape and you will die.

Q:Is it hard to remove a carpet yourself, or should i hire someone?? Im not really good at that type of thing but just wondering how hard it is. Would i need special equipment or soemthing? and how long would it take me? Thanks

The only other thing you will need is a scraper/ putty knife to scrape up the spots where glue was used to hold down the pad. Most of them will just come right up. If you run into a stubborn one soak that spot with a little water and then try again. Most of the glue used is water based, so water will help loosen it. Overall it is not a very hard job, I stripped around 1000 sq. ft. in a couple of hours, not counting all the glue spots. Your biggest problem will be finding somewhere to put all the carpet until trash day. Go ahead and give it a shot.

Q:I was planning to wash my carpet(with my carpet washer) and there were some really tough stains in it. So I put some bleach with the pre-wash solution and I sprayed it onto the stains. After I washed it, I noticed white stains on my carpet (my carpet is light tan). I know that I have removed the color completely, but can I re-dye it with tea? If I can't please offer suggestions.

I did this a few weeks ago when I was cleaning my toilet. We have blue carpet that is variegated, but there were several dots where the bleach had dropped on the carpet. I don't know if it would work for you, but I used a purple colored pencil and covered over that with a gray colored pencil. It's not perfect, but it's no longer visible to the naked eye. Unless you're down on your hands and knees looking for a spot :) Hope this helps somewhat. Try a tan colored pencil on one spot and just see what it looks like.

how did this happen? raw or spoiled meat in you carpet? i would first figure out how they got there, so that when you get rid of them, it doesn't happen again. BTW maggots=fly larvae
