- I suggest...brushing it/raking it. Sounds weird but back in the 70's when shag rug was in, raking was introduced to the carpets. If you rake it, it combs the direction of the carpet, but also pulls materials in from deep within the carpet. If this doesn't work...try a lint brush with teeth. Not a roller that picks up sticky stuff.
- Q:I have a 1 yr old Male, fixed, cat. He's never given me ANY problems. except lately he's been urinating on the bathroom rug.. Well, it sounds worse than it really is.. he did it once, then I washed the rug.. it was clean for a day.. then he peed on it once again. - Bathroom rugs are fuzzy and a lot of them have that rubber looking stuff on the back of them. Kitchen rugs usually have pictures of fruit and kitchen items on them and are not fuzzy looking.

- Uh oh now you've done it.... you made a clean spot. Go rent a commercial rinse and vac and go over the rest of the carpet. When you get it close to the same color... stop. Then RINSE the whole carpet with clear water. (you want to remove any soap.. which attracts dirt) Then set up some fans and let the room dry without being molested by traffic.

This style is what pros use. Here are some tricks of trade. ( 1) Clear the room of every thing / furniture leaves shadows and you will leave more indents on wet carpet. (2) Get good lighting in area.( 3) Vacuum carpet ( 4) Clean the carpet in sections/ The traffic areas of carpet will need more attention. (5) Do not over apply soap mixture/ if the padding gets too wet takes forever to dry. (6) Go over carpet indents a few times and the will blend into existing carpet. ( 7) Buy the recommended soap for the machine/ Good soap does the job right with less work/ Its a concentrate and mixes with water.(8) Upon completion the room will be feel humid and a little damp/ Box fans on the floor speed up drying time.(9) Clean the machine and reservoirs or the rental co. will charge you.
