Q:whats the benifits of using steel material for fasteners?
Relatively cheap, strong, and non-toxic. For Carbon Steel alloys rust and corrosion are problems. For stainless alloys, cost becomes the problem [and corrosion is not eliminated]
Q:Does anyone know about steel framed houses?
the building I work in is steel framed, no humidity problems. I can't believe that steel frame anything causes humidity problems. I would ask for an explanation from whom ever told you this. One thing is cell phones, radios etc. have bad reception due to all the interference.
Q:crossbow hunting with 8mm steel balls?
People usually compare regular fiber stringed crossbows with the string in steel ball crossbows. steel ball crossbows shoot with steel cables that can take the light weight of the ball . On top of that they are ALLWAYS have cams that reduce the tension when releasing the ball. I own a 160 lbs crossbow that shoots both bolts and 8mm balls and I love it, it can take a raccoon , a rabbit , even a turkey and it is very easy to reload since it keeps several balls in the magazine. About how accurate it is , as most shooting weapons it is a matter of practice. I have a pistol 6 mm balls and is really fun, I don't think you can kill much with that one but it is fun to shoot at around the house. I would give it a try , you might be pleasantly surprised.
Q:Steel toe cap fur lined boots?
TRY FINDING A GOOD PAIR OF WOOL SOCKS. MOST OUTDOOR STORES LIKE BIG 5, DICK'S OR BASS PRO SHOPS CARRIE A GREAT SELECTION OF WINTER STOCK.
Q:What Products Have Carbon Steel In Them?
there are too many products that have carbon steel in them. just ask yourself whether it rusts, if it does then it has carbon steel. If not then it probably isn't.
Q:Steel horse shoes vs. aluminum?
Steel is not much different to be honest as long as you aren't doing any special shoes. A horse like yours I would probably stick in some steel eventers and go on your way. That's about average and honestly between a comparable aluminum shoe you won't see a difference in his movement unless the farrier starts messing with breakovers and shoeing him different. There are few times when I will do aluminum and all of it has to do with special circumstances. My 4 year old is in aluminums on his front right now because his special shoes are close to an 3/4 thick and about an inch wide. In steel those shoes would be very heavy, but those are what he works best in compared to the steel. I can give him more of the support he needs with the aluminum than I can with the steel. I also prefer eggbars, hartbars, etc to be done in aluminum for the sheer size of the shoe. Steel lasts more resets and it's stronger than aluminum. Aluminum is useful for therapuedic shoes. So you all have the pros and cons, but a horse in shoes with no special needs is a horse who should just stay in steel.
Q:how do we steel a bitches boyfriend?
I have the same problem, but without being a twin lol. I'm just guna play it very very dirty, I'm not usually a slut, but i hate to loose, and you do have an advantage, all boys like twins. Hope this helps. xx
Q:Why can hot rolled coils be placed outside?
Because hot-rolled steel coils are generally used as raw material for semi-finished products, they have to be further used for pickling and cold rolling to make more use. The rust and dust can be removed after pickling
Q:What is the Rockwell (HRC) Indentation Hardness of Steel?
There is no average, it depends on the type of steel (hundreds) and the (heat/surface) treatment (infinite possibilities). The Rockwell hardness range covers a large scale so for any given range there is a suffix (C is used for most steel) to denote the selected range. The number is a dimensionless constant that correlates to the strength of the material. Materials can also be surface (case) hardened and then the bulk material will be soft and the surface will be hard, this is typical for items like gears and cams that have rolling wear but are not very heavily stressed to require bulk hardness. Most steel that is hardened is first machined to size and then hardened. If more accuracy is required, they are machined to just over net size, hardened and then ground to the final size as the heat treatment can change the size and shape a little as stresses are released. Some examples: Very hard steel (e.g. a higher quality knife blade): HRC 55–66 Axes, chisels, etc.: HRC 40–45 4140 Cr Mb Steel HRC 28 - 36 , bulk hardened to HRC 54, Nitride case hardened to HRC 60 P20 tool steel can be bulk hardened to over HRC 55 and then tempered down from HRC 51 to 28
Q:What minerals are mixed to make steel?
Carbon from coal, Iron from iron ore, Calcium from limestone, Oxygen from compressed O2.
