Q:Well i bought new speakers for my 92 integra and when i installed them i also wanted to get new speaker wire.how would i go about installing all new wires?would you recommend have circuit city do it or is it not as hard as it looks?
it breaks off because its very thin wire. You need to run new wire. The smallest I would use is 16 gauge wire....14 gauge for the best sound quality. All you need to do is run from your head unit or amp to each speaker. If you have 4 speakers then run 4 wires.EXAMPLE: FRONT CHANNEL LEFT (1) FRONT CHANNEL RIGHT(2) REAR CHANNEL LEFT (3) REAR CHANNEL RIGHT(4) Thats it....Just do your best to conceal the wire under carpet, or along wire mold which is under plasic foot/door strip, on the floor of the vehicle.
Q:You have a 3 foot wide wire, vs a .3 inch wire. They are equal length. There is 3 volts going through each wire, to power your 1 volt LED. So, would the 3 foot wide wire have less resistance ? I don't even think it would work.
Increasing the diameter of a wire while maintaining a constant density is equivalent to connecting another wire in parallel with the present wire. Each wire contains a certain end to end resistance. The total equivalent end to end resistance of two wire resistors connected in parallel is always less than resistance value of the wire with the smallest end to end resistance. Another way to look at it. The larger the wire the greater the cross sectional area. The greater the cross sectional area of a wire the greater the number of parallel paths the current can take. The more parallel current paths available from one end of a wire to the other the less the overall resistance of the wire will be. You stated There is 3 Volts going through each wire, to power your 1 Volt LED. If this is true then you must have a resistor of roughly 100 Ohms that is dropping 2 Volts connected between the 3 Volt source and the 1 Volt LED. Either the 3' wide wire or the .3 wire would work fine in this application. The .3 wire would be a tad less cumbersome than the 3` wire I might add. Response to additional details: Conductance is the reciprocal of resistance and is independent of the applied Voltage. More length of a given wire would mean more resistance. More cross sectional area of a given wire means less resistance. Any wire has resistance but the conductor wire resistance itself in an LED circuit is of no consequence I believe.
Q:my light stopped working ( a chandalier ). It has brown wires, blue wires, red wires, beige wires, and white wires.
Wow, this is a first. most lights have just two wires a black<hot and a white<neutral wire and you just hook black to black using a wire-nut and the same with the white wire and the switch completes the circuit. In some ceiling fans they have blue or brown wires that are also hot to run to the lights at the bottom of the ceiling fans to power that but a chandelier should not have all of that. You might want to call in an electrician for this particular problem because if its a junction box with other wires hooked into that area it could cause a fire or worse a loss of life if you don't know what your doing and disconnect the electricity from the electrical panel by shutting off the power and checking it with a meter. Hope this helps and I would love to see a pic of that chandelier that has that many different color wires!!! wow
Q:i have my wires installed by a professional, and i wanted to put an taco switch to run to my amp, if i run a taco switch will it be okay? and with messing up the wires that he already ran would it screw it up?
Are you wanting to listen to your stereo with your Sub off sometimes? There would be no problem putting a in-line toggle switch on your REM wire. Just look at the color of the small wire going into your amp, then find that wire under the dash. Cut the wire and strip both ends. Connect one side of the toggle to one wire and the other side to the toggle to the other wire . Now it is just a In-line switch. mount it where you want Turning this off and on wont hurt your amp.
Q:i need an egr wiring Diagram for a 2000 Chevy Malibu. the wires got pulled out of the weather tight connector. if anyone can help i'd appreciate
Connector view for the GM linear EGR valve are as follows: Pin# A=gray/w black wire,Pin# B=solid black wire,Pin# C=brown/w white wire,Pin# D=brown/w white wire(see note) and Pin# E=solid red wire! NOTE since pin C+D have the same color wire the correct wire must be identified by checking the voltage with the KOEO (key on engine off) the right brown/w white wire should have a 5volt reference voltage with the key on engine off! Hope this helps.
Q:what to do if i unhooked my starter without unhooking my battery and the hot and gound wire caught on fire
Replace the cables, and chalk it up as a learning experience. Now you know why shops charge so much. They learn before doing.
Q:I no longer have enough 0 gauge wire would it be bad to use 0 gauge power wire to the amp and 4 gauge wire to ground the amp?
Umm well it really depends on how much power you are running through it. If your amp is only about 200-400 watt rms, then you should be fine with a 4awg ground. However, if your rms is higher than 400 you seriously need to consider getting some bigger gauge wire.
Q:What are the basic characteristics of wire resistance strain gages?
The terminal voltage and the current have the definite function relation, which shows the two terminal device which can transform the electric energy into other forms. It is represented by the letter R, and the unit is ohm. Actual devices, such as light bulbs, electric heating wires, resistors, etc., can be represented as resistor elements.
Q:What type of wire do i need to install a normal inside wall outlet? Do i have to use solid copper wire?
Buy AWG # 14X2 cable inside includes one more bare copper wire for grounding. Solid single conductor is the common product.
Q:i need to know how much wire size i have to put for 380 volts supply
Wire size is a function of current, not voltage. So, how much current is your load going to draw.
