Q:If you put clay over wire and bake it would the wire melt and ruin the sculpture?Details on wire:I'm not sure what kind of wire it is but it says Bright Floral Wire..Wire is silverDetails on Clay:Again, im not sure what clay...its from polyform products and it says Premo Sculpey so im guessing Polymer? :#92;Clay is Black.Bakes for 275F (130C)30 minutes per/par/por1/4 in (6mm)
No the wire won't melt - besides fuse wire or solder, the lowest common melting point wire is aluminum and it melts at over 1200F Floral wire is usually steel and melts at more like 3000F, but even if it were copper, that melts at about 1900F The real problem with using wire in polymer sculptures is that when the clay shrinks in baking it may pull apart along the wire or that you may make parts of your sculpture thin (like legs or arms) and part thick (like body or head) and thick clay tends to crack - so these parts need to be hollow, which is why people talk about crumpling heavy duty aluminum foil as a core, so the clay is more uniform in thickness all over. Don't forget to have an oven thermometer for accurate temperature checking - don't trust the knob setting on the oven.
Q:I have 12/3 wire running from the breaker box on a 20 amp breaker that powers a bathroom (2 lights and 2 receptacles). I want to splice into this and run 14/2 wire into the living room to run 6 recessed lights. Is this OK to do?
No, that is against code. Splicing is not allowed nor can you use a lesser gauge on a circuit. To clarify: splicing exposes otherwise insulated wire. The splice has to be done properly such that no wire is exposed, the splice is hardened and this is achieved using a junction box of NEMA appropriate to the installation conditions. A 20A circuit for a bathroom means there is an exhaust fan since a couple of lamps and receptacles do not normally call for that much. That means the circuit has to be able to support 20A and that means the entire circuit. If you extend the circuit using lesser gauge wire than you downgrade the circuit's ability to handle current. This is a fire risk and is a strict no-no.
Q:What are the advantages / disadvantages of different types of wire (ethernet, coax,twisted pair) over the different types of wireless( WI- Fi, bluetooth)
thats a huge topic!! depends on what you wanna do and where..twisted pair is great wireless is great coax is fadding out
Q:I removed my old door chime/bell a few years ago and replaced it with a wireless one. That one quit working and now I am attempting to install a new wired one again. The only problem is, when I removed my old one way back, I failed to label the existing wires to where they go. I have two wires coming out of my wall mount, one white, one brown and the both have a white and red wire sticking out of them. I am not sure which one/ones will connect to the FRONT and TRANS posts on my new chime. I don't have a rear door bell button so that is not a problem. Which wire goes to the FRONT and TRANS and do I cap off any of the 4 wires? My installation instructions don't cover the mindless mistake of not having the wires labled.
one wire is coming from the door bell and on is going to a transformer, all you have to do is make it into a series circuit, connect the two red wires together from each cable take one white wire and hook to trans on the door bell and the other to the front. if you want to check this out you need a meter set it for AC under 100v check each set of wires for 12-24v red to white at each cable the one that dosent have power is going to the button at the door while button is pushed check this wire for continuity if this all checks about than wire as i described above
Q:I own a 1990 Toyota 4runner 6cyl, 3L. it had a few performance issues when i bought it. ( just didnt seem to have any power idling at around 200), so before spending money on expensive items, i figured spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. So i just changed the spark plug wires today, and immediatly the truck was runnin much better idling at 800-1000 , about 5 minutes into driving, the problem started again, i parked the truck, it was idling at 200-300 again, opened the hood saw a bit of smoke coming from one of the wires, so im hoping and assuming it was just smoking because the wire was touching a hot surface, i can hear a bit of a clicking noise that i dont remember hearing before, almost like a spark. what could cause the sudden problem, is it possible the wires could be connected to the wrong spark plugs ( i replaced the old ones one by one, so i know i didnt connect it wrong) any tips would be great
in case you seem on the wires at night you will see them arc on the hours of darkness what form of wires are you employing u want the terrific ones for that motor vehicle what does Toyota say approximately you situation you are able to desire to have yet another situation because of the fact this in no way has been a situation till now what have you ever no longer carried out that could desire to be carried out the race type wires could desire to splendid your situation get them a velocity save and ask for there opinion the radiator sounds love it extremely is stopped up so., while replaced into the final time you flushed the device thoroughly as reported by employing Toyota it extremely is a ninety two and that makes it 15 years old 08 are out now.what form of plugs are you putting interior the engine right here lower back basically the terrific will artwork reliable success
Q:I have 1971 slide in truck camper with 5 way pin wiring wires are red, white ,yellow, black,green.need to know what wire's do what...thanks
On a 4 wire harness, normally the left turn signal is green, right is yellow, tail lights are brown, and ground is black. The fifth wire is usually for surge brakes as on a heavy trailer. Take a look at the link below for various configurations.
Q:wire is 4.5 ft from the pole. (a) How much wire is used? (b) How high up the pole is the wire connected?
let w = wire length using trig............4.5/w = sine 10 degrees...................w = 25.9 ft height of wire attachment = w x cosine 10 = 25.5 ft.
Q:I have a 98 oldsmobile intrigue. Stock radio was taken out a while ago so all there is are wire hanging out. I don't know what I need, a wire connector or wire harness. Honestly don't know what's what. Also need to know how to use the wire connector/harness.and what goes to what
First off, if there are bare wires, meaning they are all loose and you see copper then you are in for a rough time. If they are still wired into the stock harness and connectors it will be much easier. If you have a stock harness and connectors, you should buy a vehicle harness adaptor that is correct for your car. Just about any stereo shop should be able to get them. This will plug into your stock harness and give you labeled wires to connect to the harness you get with the new head unit. Just splice them together and you should be good. Very straight forward. Just follow the instructions. If you have bare wire then you will need to get a chilton's or haynes manual for your car. There should be a wiring diagram that lists the color codes for the what wire is what. Use that to splice into the deck harness. This is the harder route because you don't have a lot of slack on the stock wires and its a headache to keep it all strait in your mind.
Q:Can anyone send me a file or link of the original through the wire where he sounds like more of his mouth is wired and has the lyric quot;in the same hospital where biggie n tupac diedplease thanks

Q:I want to install a single-pole dimmer switch for a series of 4 pot lights in the same box (double gang) as a kill switch for a receptical already installed. There is a 14-3 wire (b/w/r/g) brigning power into the box from the main, and 14-2 wiring for the dimmer and 14-2 wire for the kill switch. How do I wire this? The single pole dimmer has a ground and two black wires. The switch to kill the receptical has only two brass screws on one side.
Wires that have continual power are called source wires. One of the source wires (any color other than white or green) should be hooked up to one of the brass screws on your kill switch. The other brass screw will have the wire going to the receptacle. NOTE: A switch is used to connect/break the connection of power going to an appliance/fixture. The other source wire will go to one of the black wires on your dimmer switch. The other black wire on the dimmer switch will go to the 4 pot lights as its source, in which we call a switch leg. The ground wire of the dimmer switch is hooked to the ground wire in the box. No white or neutral wires are needed for this...Test the wires first so that you know what wire is for what. Then, make sure you turn off all power so that you don't damage the dimmer switch.
