Q:whats the difference between weld steel and sheet metal?
galvanized steel gives off poisonous fumes when you weld it
Q:What are the characteristics of hot-rolled steel coils and cold rolled steel coils? What loading and unloading tools should be used? What items should be paid attention to?
When placing materials to roll on both sides of the main pad wood pallets, prevent rolling back and forth. In addition the floor should be thickened, cannot have uneven or debris, because the line of steel coils when gravity concentrated in contact with the ground floor, there is a fracture easily, debris, easy to leave the indentation in the steel roll.
Q:Titanium vs Surgical Steel in Earrings?
There is a lot of debate in the piercing community about guns vs. needles. In my opinion, needle piercing from a reputable piercing shop is the best choice. This is because guns can harbor a lot of bacteria, especially if they are used on more than one person which they often are. Yes, guns are fast and efficient, but they can be unsafe at times. My first lobe holes were done with a gun. I cried forever because it burned so bad...even after days. They lady was so impersonal, and they used sterling silver which I found out that day I was allergic to. My other 4 holes are were done with a needle. I had trouble healing them because I used sterling silver (my stupid fault), but besides the allergy, they healed beautifully and were virtually pain free. I would recommend getting them pierced at an actual shop, not the mall. If I were you, I would chose niobium metal or titanium to avoid any type of allergy that could happen. Choose studs and not rings because they are easier to heal. Good luck!
Q:steel industry?
Since2003, India has been the largest sponge iron producer in the world. In 2005, out of total global production of 56.05 mt of sponge iron, India produced around 11.1 mt (19.8%). In line with production target of 110 mt of steel (National Steel Policy) by FY20, many steel producers have announced their capacity expansion plans by signing MOUs with various state governments like Chattisgarh, Orissa and Jharkhand. The steel producers are expected to add around 8 mt of capacity by FY 08. CARE estimates that during 2006-09, demand for steel in the domestic market would grow at a CAGR of 8.4%. HR steel because of its widespread applicability is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17.5%. During this period, major demand drivers would be Consumer durables, Automobiles and Construction. Domestically, steel prices of flat products follow the international trend. Globally, steel prices are expected to firm up with continued growth in steel consumption. Further, the winds of consolidation have gathered pace with Arcelor-Mittal merger and latest acquisition of Corus by Tata Steel. The Indian steel industry has announced huge capacity expansions. With commissioning of these capacities demand-capacity ratio is expected to decline in FY 09 due to excess capacity. Will this lead to a drop in prices with commissioning of these capacities? With China and India becoming the focus of major global steel companies, will the consolidation of steel industry in these countries continue? For comprehensive analysis and CARE’s future outlook on the sector, please refer to the exhaustive report on the Indian Steel Industry by CARE Research.
Q:Buoyancy question. Why does a steel nail sinks but a steel ship floats.?
Its all about dispersing.weigh and mass. Over a larger area .And the surface tention of the water.A piece of glass will float as long as the water is calm. and doesn't break over the edge of the glass. I don't remember the formula. been away from school to long.
Q:steel or aluminum on fixie?
I'm afraid you have opened a can o'worms. Aluminum as a material is roughly 1/2 the weight of steel. Aluminum as a material is also roughly 1/3 the strength of steel. his means you need 3 times more aluminum to make a frame as strong as steel which makes the aluminum frame 25% heavier. That being said, well designed and more expensive aluminum frames can easily weigh less than low zoot steel. Buying a cheap bike with an aluminum frame will ALWAYS weigh more than a middle of the road bike with a steel frame. ...and THAT being said, high end steel can easily weigh less than a high quality aluminum frame... note we are talking frames in the $2000 range- just for the frame. So, based on your explanation and attendant budget of the bikes you are considering, buy the steel bike. You won't be losing or gaining anything... except saving money.
Q:What is purpose of providing steel in compression zone in Doubly reinforced beam ?
There are several reasons to add compression steel. Keep in mind, supported steel (meaning it can't buckle) resists compression as well. Compression steel helps reduce long term deflections. Concrete creeps under sustained loads. Steel lessens the compression, meaning less sustained compressive stress to cause creep deflection. It makes members more ductile. Since the steel takes some of the compressive stress, the compression block depth is reduced, increasing the strain in the tension steel at failure, resulting in more ductile behavior (the moment at first yield remains largely the same with compression steel added, but the increase in capacity after yield is significant). Compression steel insures that the tension steel yields before the concrete crushes, meaning it helps change the failure mode to tension controlled. It makes beams easier to construct. With bars in the top and bottom, you have longitudinal reinforcement in all 4 corners of the shear stirrups to keep them in place when pouring the concrete. Also, for continuous members, its often easier to run your negative moment steel the full length of the beam rather than trying to cut it off in the positive moment regions. Serviceability concerns. You're going to end up putting steel in that region anyway to for temperature and shrinkage.

Q:About types of stainless steel for knifes.?
Actually-good grades of stainless is superior to high carbon steels which has been proven by countless tests. Aus8 is a japanese steel from what I know, so I'm not sure what the letter and number designation means. From what I know, Aus8 has similar properties to 440B though with a carbon content of around ~.74%. This is lower content then most other blade steels meaning it has lower edge retention. The stainless steels I'd consider to be best are: Ats-34: Less corrosion resistant then 440c, but is tougher then 440c and still holds a edge quite well 440c: Probably the best all around steel on the market for its price. Highest corrosion resistance and very good edge retention. I wouldn't recommend it on choppers though, a tougher steel like the one mentioned above would probably be better for that. A/B/C indicates the carbon content going from least to greatest. 4xx indicates that its a chrome martensitic steel. 40 indicates that its a high carbon grade compared to (4)20 which has less then .5 percent. CpmS30v: Slightly lower corrosion resistance then 440c due to it not taking a mirror finish, but very high edge retention and improved toughness. Cpm indicates that it's made by compressed particle metallurgy while the v indicates that its a vanadium alloy. I'm not sure what the S30 indicates.
