Q:Which is stronger, Wood or Steel?
Back when I was in school we used to have a contest comparing balsa wood bridge designs. The idea was to build the strongest bridge when derated for bridge weight. The strength test was that the 2-ft long bridge was placed between two tables and a garbage can was strung up to the middle of it. Then it was slowly filled with water until the bridge snapped. The can was weighed and divided by the bridge weight to get our scores. I don't see why you couldn't do this to compare wood vs steel. You could find how much load is needed to snap sample rods. The important point is that the rods should be nearly identical in dimensions between the two materials-- this means length and diameter. Also if you're measuring steel, you'd want to choose a relatively thin diameter or a long span or you won't be able to even bend it. Also while I'm pretty sure wood will snap, steel might bend gradually, so you'd have to decide how much deformation you would allow before calling the piece failed. Also if you take this approach be sure to wear safety glasses when running it. In fact it would be a good idea to put a metal shroud around the test structure.
Q:Will a stainless steel ring rust, or tarnish?
Stainless Steel does not rust...that is why it is used in our kitchens and the top kitchens of the world...!! sorry...Stainless Steel does not Tarnish either!
Q:Is EN10025 S355JR weathering steel?
Is bether to use this one below! ASTM A588/A588M. Standard Specification for High-Strength Low-Alloy Structural Steel with 50 ksi [345 MPa] Minimum Yield Point , Weather Resistant
Q:cleaning a steel pan?
they have drywall (mudding) sponges to sand mud when you fix walls in the house, they are grey, square, and do not scratch. They seem to work better than any scrubber ever. Make sure you use a degreaser dishsoap like dawn. Maybe try putting your heat lower in the pan and cooking things more slowly?
Q:WHAT ARE THE WAYS THAT YO COULD PREVENT STEEL FROM RUSTING WHEN IT IS EXPOSED TO WATER? SALT WATER? VINEGAR?
cathodic protection
Q:Steel shafted woods vs Graphite woods?
I'd be very surprised if there are any tour players still using steel shafts on their woods (I did actually see Tiger with a steel shaft on a driver during a clinic in 2002). Top end graphite shafts have gotten so much better there's just no reason for pros not to use them anymore. That being said, I use a 45 True Temper stiff steel shaft in my driver (Cobra X-speed, 9.5*). Graphite is longer than steel, but the distance I've lost is minimal (maybe 10 yards and I still put it out there 250+ consistently). The extra weight has actually helped me stay in control which has improved my overall driving considerably, and the very low torque in a steel shaft has paid off huge in accuracy. You're paying minimum $60 (or more) for a graphite shaft with a similar torque rating to any steel shaft. I hit easily twice as many fairways since the switch. I've even switched out my other fairway woods too, the feel and control are so much nicer. I've considered going with a 46 on the driver to try to regain some of the distance, and at $7 per shaft I can actually just go do that whenever I want. Don't get me wrong, if I were playing for money or flirting with par I'd invest in good quality graphite stuff no question, but it doesn't make sense to me right now. I'd recommend to anyone looking for more consistency out of their woods to take $20 to your golf shop and try it out. It's a lot cheaper than the alternatives.
Q:on pokemon diamond what pokemon are week to steel types?
Hi! well i hav both games but ther's no big difference. I play Diamond more though. For starter u shud pick piplup: 1. because u love water pokemon of course 2. piplup is stong against chimchar (water- fire) 3. it can learn ice moves like ice beam which are super effective against torterra. 4. Empoleon looks Wicked!! and its steel type backs up its weaknesses. i liked it. hav fun with the game!!!!!!!
Q:Aluminum alloy rolling doors and color steel shutter door that good
Hello, the shutter door material mainly galvanized steel plate, color steel plate, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, PVC soft board, PVC soft door curtain.
Q:Why should I use stainless steel cookware?
Stainless steel has some benefits: 1) Dishwasher safe: my anodized aluminum pots are NOT dishwasher safe (my wife put one in and it lost its gun-metal gray finish - sad) 2) Conductivity: most stainless steel cookware has an aluminum (or copper) middle - this transfers the heat nicely - steel by itself does not conduct heat evenly. All Clad cookware refers to the fact that the aluminum within the cookware is clad in steel. 3) Aesthetics: stainless is pretty. Stainless is not anti-stick, so you'll have to use all your skills to avoid sticking. 1) Use oil or butter: heat your pan before oiling. Once to temp, add the oil/butter and wait for it to heat-through. THEN add your food - sticking should be minimized. 2) Move your food around a lot: once you add a piece of food that is likely to stick, move it shortly afterward. This will prevent the food from gluing itself to one spot in the pan - a crust will start to appear, and that will protect the food from sticking. 3) Love the fond: anti-stick pans don't have a good chance at fond development (fond is the stuff that sticks to the bottom of the pan, and is crucial to pan sauce creation). You should experiment with your cookware, or send it to me: I am wishing for some new cookware.
Q:Can you WELD STEEL to ALUMINUM? How much heavier/stronger is STEEL?
Yes you can, but you really dont want to. Aluminum conducts heat better than steel so the weld would not cool evenly and would be brittle. You would be better off using a bracket or bolt straight on.
