Q:I have just replaced the timing belts on my 94 Civic Si and my 00 Elantra GLS. Both were done at different shops, but i got the same hounding to replace the water pump when doing the belt. My Elantra has 66k and my Civic 85k and i know how important the timing belt is-especially with a negative clearance engine like the VTEC. previously, i've never been told to replace the waterpump with the timing belt til now. is this just a ruse to extort more money out of me, or is there some validity in what the guy behind the counter is saying??
Not sure about Elantra, but for Honda, the water pump is driven off of timing belt. If you are going to put in 4 hours of labor tearing up to replace timing belt, it would be silly not to replace the water pump because if water pump goes out, then you have to put in that 4 hour labor again. In my experience, water pump life is around 80 - 120K for most cars.
Q:We had to have our well pump replaced yesterday, how long before the well settles down, and the water tastes like it used to?The company who replaced the pump told us when changing a pump it disturbs the well, and it would take time for everything to settle back into place. Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.
Something seems a little fishy here besides the smell of the water. 1) Replacing the pump will do nothing to keep your well from being sucked dry unless the pump was sunk lower in the well. 2) A space is left between the bottom of the pump and the bottom of the well so that you have a place for sediment to settle, anywhere from 10' to 50'. 3) If you sink the pump lower you are placing it in the sediment area and will keep sucking up sediment until its level is drawn down. 4) Water literally flows thru the well and unless your well casing was damaged or the walls below it are collapsing it would be difficult to stir up anything. Apparently what they have done is to lower the pump pipe causing the pump to sit in the available sediment area. If you run the pump enough you will eventually suck the sediment down out of the bottom of the well. However, you will have less of a sump left and you will draw more sediment out of the well from now on. The only permanent solution to your problem was to drill the well deeper. I have recent firsthand experience with this both professionally (customers wells) and personally (my own well). The water will clear up but it may take some time and quite a bit of flow but from now on you will draw more particulates out of your well. Your cheapest and best solution is to invest in a filter to go inline after your pressure tank. They run about $70 plus installation and will need the filters changed between 1 and 6 months depending on how turbid your water is. Good Luck!
Q:The water pump gasket in my '98 Forester (130k) recently began to leak, and I will be replacing it in the next couple days. I noticed a stream of bubbles in my overflow container, though, and am wondering if it might be bad head gaskets making the air bubbles. The bubbles only appear after the engine is warmed up, like after a drive around town - there aren't any bubbles when the engine is cold.Is it possible that these air bubbles are coming from the leaking water pump? I hope so, because I'd much rather replace the pump than the head gaskets!
I have yet to witness a leaky water pump suck air into the cooling system . If you are seeing bubbles in your radiator after the vehicle heats up see if the temperature is also higher [the hot gasses will heat up your coolant and eventually can push your antifreeze to the reservoir tank ] it can result in boil over.I strongly believe you have a bad head gasket that has not entirely blown yet Have the compression checked per cylinder, and for water getting into your oil (it would become a milky brown and become frothy a little bit) if that is all ok, then maybe just maybe a pump sucking air is occurring, though I have never seen it or herd of it before in my entire life.
Q:I have 2000 ford ranger v6 3.0 I replaced the water pump ten months ago and all of a sudden it's running hot it only runs hot when I stop for a second at a red light or stop sign. I changed the radiator today but still is running hot. The top radiato hose going to the thermostat housing is building a lot of pressure and the water is bubbling in the reservoir what could be wrong? And I took the thermostat out last week
You're looking for an answer that may be hard to find. Have to assume the water pump and radiator are good. But there's a lot more to the cooling system. You could have one or more issues. For one, we don't know how well the water pump is spinning or if you changed the pulley so it's spinning slower. You have coolant channels in the block that go through the head gasket into the head. In a 12-year-old car, these channels could be partially blocked with crud and sludge. Stop buying parts and take your car to a good radiator shop. Possibly all you need is a good chemical flush to get rid of the sludge. For starters, turn on the heater which might keep the temperature in the operating range, but get some help from a radiator shop. ... Good luck!!
Q:Water pump quot;leakingbut not dripping anything. how important?my 04 tacoma has a quot;leaking water pumpquot;. I just see some pink fluid around the seals, nothing is dripping. toyota dealer didnt make a big deal about it, just said i should get it done soon. heck they didnt even tell me, i just saw it on the receipt.other mechanics said the same thing. quot;whenever u want to do it we'll do it.is it not an hugely important mechanism or what? how long can i go without doing it? the first symptom would be the engine getting a little hotter? its been like that for 5-6 months.
there is an uncomplicated thank you to be sure what your pal believes and such. Ask your pal. Wicca is an unorganized faith, so as that on an identical time as there are some issues that are an identical between maximum Wiccans, there are sufficient variations that what you're able to desire to study online won't be what your pal believes. the ideal thank you to be sure precisely what they suspect is to easily ask them. in the event that they're your pal, they are going to be keen to describe.
Q:What is the meaning of "ETA" in pump selection table, the unit is%; and what does "NPSH" mean? The unit is m. Is in the south water pump performance curve appeared, please refer to the master, and now thank you.
Water pump selection table "ETA" is the meaning of efficiency. NPSH refers to the pump's cavitation margin.ETA is abbreviated as "efficient ratio", and Chinese means "water efficiency". The efficiency of the pump here is generally referred to as the efficiency of the pump design point because the actual efficiency of the pump varies with the pump operating conditions. The efficiency of the ETA can also be interpreted as the efficiency of the pump at the rated lift (or rated flow).
Q:How many pumps does a 50 meter water head use?
Deep well submersible pump head = dynamic water level to pipe outlet height + outlet pressure + hydraulic loss along courseTherefore, it is necessary to provide the dynamic water level of the well, the required flow rate, the pipe diameter, and the vertical height of the wellhead to the highest point, so as to estimate the pump head.
Q:22KW pump motor direct start circuit breaker and contactor size? Concrete calculation method
22KW the water pump motor is 380V. 22KW rated current is about 44A, 10 square copper wire is enough, the motor will often start off ah, if it is not available for DZ108-63 50A, CJX2-50 50A contactor is 380V.Pump motor (pump motor) according to the structure classification, should be divided into horizontal motor and vertical motor. Because of the work characteristics of pump starting torque is relatively small, the starting frequency is relatively small, relatively long time continuous operation and other characteristics, so the majority of pump motor asynchronous motor cage rotor or synchronous motor. The pump motor should be selected according to the selection of shaft power; motor shaft power power is greater than one level; for example: axle power is 15KW, select the motor should be: 18.5KW for motor with very few, according to the actual working conditions. 2 pole motor is generally used in the head of micro height, flow is not large (calculation is more complicated). Large flow, small lift occasions can choose 4 pole motor. Super large flow, lower head select 4 or 6 pole motor, when choose six pole motor, power can be reduced according to the shaft power of a grade.
Q:The plumber has disappeared on us with 99% of the job done. Our new basement remodel has baseboard heating installed, a water pump attached to the furnace/boiler, but no heat downstairs because their is no thermostat. I haven't checked to see if he did any wiring. (Wouldn't that be an electrician's job?) I've ordered a wireless thermostat kit, and I'm assuming installation instructions for the base are included, but it hasn't arrived yet. What should I do to get that pump pumping hot water to keep us nice and cozy?
Back away from that furnace and call your plumber.
Q:Rated power of three-phase pump4000W is a three-phase operating pump, the voltage is 380V, how to find the three-phase water pump current, and the formula is what?
Three phase water pump motor rated power 4000W is the output shaft power, divided by the motor efficiency (general 85%) is the input power, which is often mistaken. The electric power is =4000/0.85=4706WRated current = electric power /1.732x, rated voltage x, power factor =4706/1.732x380x0.8=8.94A (assuming power factor 0.8).The above three answers are all wrong.
