Q:Recently started getting alot of noise coming from the front of our truck. The sound is like a high pit ch noise the gets louder as the truck picks up speed. I would best describe it as a high pitch or like the sound of really big 4x4 tires as they drive by you on the freeway. I did the standard wheel bearing check. Jacked up the truck and pushed and pulled on the wheel. I get no shake or looseness. I can say that the passenger front doesn't roll as smooth as the driver front. I pulled the hub off and did a close visual and i can see nothing wrong. No leaking, scaring, or looseness. Just the lack of rolling smoothness like the other side. Could this be a bad bearing?
Go back in and check the brake pad thickness. The wear indicator will screech on the disk when the pad get thin. Wheel brearings don't usually make a high-pitched sound. They groan and moan and grind and the sound may change when you make a turn.
Q:im confuse... so, i know how to remove the wheels and bearings and stuff. i wanna know what to use. my friend told me to use acetone but idk what acetone is... could someone tell me? and i also wanna know how to clean it. do i just pour the acetone in a bowl and put the bearings in? or do i have to remove the sheild of the bearings before i put it in? could someone help please?if you can tell me what acetone is and where i can get it. is it in nail polish remover? thanks

Q:OK, so i got 91% isopropyl alcohol( i thinks that's rubbing alcohol) and bones speed cream. i just get a gatorade bottle and put the alcohol in it. drop the bearings and shake it around for about 5 minutes. clean them out. here whats i need help for. i have ABEC Lucky 7, do i need to take that little ring around it before i clean them? and i have bones speed cream, it says ts exclusive for bones bearings only. can i use it? zumiez doesn't got any other ones. does Maui nix? and is the stuff i do to clean it good? Long question. askin all skaters and whoever knows how to clean them for cheap.and good.
I'd recommend using denatured alcohol since it contains no water. Your rubbing alcohol is still 9% water. Be sure the bottle is clean and dry before using. Cleaning time should be at minimum 15 mins. An hour if they are really dirty. You will need to remove the shield to clean the bearings. If the shield is crimped on, it is not removable. Luckys use metal shields, so you will have to carefully remove the retainer, fine wire around the outside of the shield before cleaning. Speed Cream will work for any skate bearings, nit just Bones.
Q:90 15ierra 4cyl 4 tech motor.oil pump came loose and rod bearins turned and have the motor up nd pn off. m just curous if theres an easy way to take them out?do i takeone out the turn the motor to get to th other bearings?
are you sure only the rod bearings are affected and no damage to crank pin ? remove the oil pan and work under the engine. when you remove the oil pan you can have access to connecting rods, you just unbolt the rod cap and replace the bearings then re-torque back the cap's bolts. you may turn the crankshaft while working around on each rod..
Q:I have a 38 sector nine bambo fiji longboard. I was thinking about getting bones reds, or bones super reds. What bearing should i get? An answer is greatly appreciated!
Both are nice bearings, but I'd personally go with the reds bearings over the super reds. I've had them for almost a year now and they're still going strong.
Q:Will the bearings rust if you wipe them with a paper towel?
i've had the same bearings for about 5 years and the only reason why is because of my bearing protectors. i have never cleaned them but i need new ones now. i dont think you should clean them. you should probably buy bearing protectors and you'll be fine. my board has been waterlogged about 3 times and my bearings still survived because of the protectors. well gl skating
Q:How do I take a front rims bearings so i can put it in another rim? If your wondering what type of rim for the bike its for bmx bikes. Thanks
You'll need a tool called a slide hammer and the proper associated fittings to remove rim bearings. Personally, I wouldn't reuse bearings that were removed. These are often cheap enough to just purchase new without worry that soon you'll be replacing them soon. Since you're dealing with bicycle bearings, they're going to be pretty cheap. Industrial and vehicle related bearings will cost more. The slide hammer attachement basically grabs the bearing pack from the inside diameter where the shaft would slide through. the attachment is connected to the slide hammer. you hold the rim down and slide the hammer weight towards you or upwards in a fast motion.
Q:I really need a new skateboard. I've been using this crappy one from walmart for months and really need a good new one for under 90$ at the most. (including bone swiss bearings) thanks!
A okorder . Keep in mind that if you go with the pro set, after your deck breaks you only need to spend 60 on a new one since you can save the trucks wheels and bearings.
Q:I was just wondering if getting ball bearings for the Traxxas Rustler is a good idea and if it would save batteries. I have a Traxxas Slash (which has ball bearings) and it lasts longer with the batteries
I assume your Ruster is (or was) an XL-5. You really need to get bearings because bushings are a think of the past. They keep the car from going very fast, hence getting better run times. Now you have choices. You can get the stock Traxxas VXL Carriers/bearings bearings, RPM Carriers/Traxxas Bearings, or STRC Carriers/bearings. I would NOT get the stock Traxxas VXL carriers, and it your tight on money get the RPM carriers with Traxxas Bearings. I would FOR SURE get STRC carriers, and these come with bearings for only $15-20 each. Don't forget about steering blocks. Good luck with your Ruster and Slash!
Q:or witch hazel? im just looking through my cabinet and seeing what i have....
i cleaned my bearings yesterday and i used an air compressor to knock the dirt off then i spin my wheels as hard as a can and apply WD-40 while they spin, then i spin the wheel for bout 10-15 seconds so it sets in wipe of access then ride! ( do this for each bearing and or side)
