Q:1983 yz125 bottom end bearings?
The bottom end rod bearings on that model are roller bearings. If they need to be replaced a dealer has to pull apart the 2 piece crank and press it back together. Not a do it yourself job. I can't help you with finding parts

What size tires are you running? The number one rule of off roading is to drive as slow as possible but as fast as necessary. I am a avid off roader and have over 1500 trail miles with my Land Rover and over 500 miles with a Mitsubishi that I had and have never once broken anything. So my first suggestion is to slow down, if you insist on not treading lightly and ruining it for the rest of us then bigger tiers aired down will provide a softer landing. But seriously, please Tread Lightly, they are closing trails left and right here in MI because people are abusing them and ruining the joys of off roading for the rest of us. We pack the cooler and dog and take the kids out all the time, they love it as much as we do. Until you get the ssholes in the big super moded trucks doing 50mph down the trails pretending that they are in the Baja 1000 with mud and dirt and endangered flowers flying everywhere. It should be legal to shoot these people.

Trucks are the metal axles and plates that mount to the board. They come in different sizes depending on what type of riding you plan on doing- the longer the axle the less turning radius you'll have. Bearing are small discs that contain tiny metal ball (bearings) that allow you wheels to spin freely once they are mounted on the truck-there are 2 bearing rings for each wheel (inside outside) . These also come in all types and generally the more expensive the bearings the more spin/speed you'll get. Hardware merely refers to the bolts nuts that hold the trucks to the board. These also come in all sorts of lengths and brands, but really they are mostly all the same. and don't forget some of the most important gear for a noob will be protective gear, helmet pads etc. Have Fun !

N design Inside track with two unitary flanges, while outside track without flange. Axes's axial displacement to bearing block can be endured by bearing from two directions. Therefore, these bearings usually used as non position end bearings. NU design The outside track of NU design bearings has two unitary flanges, while inside track without flange. Axis's axial displacement to bearing block can be duded by bearing from two directions. Therefore, these bearings usually used as non position end bearings. Due to the reason of manufacture and maintenance, two flanges of outside track of NU design big bearings showed on drawing maybe not unitary, but with loose fit-up flange rings. NJ design Outside track has two unitary flanges, inside track also with one unitary flange. Therefore, these bearings suitable for the axial orientation of axes from one direction. Since their design and usage are for different purposes I would say no they are not interchangeable.
Q:when you split the case in a dirt bike do u have to replace all of the bearings and seals?
i would recommend it because you dont want to be back in there for a long time. the bearings are obsorbing air and gas all the time, to deteriorate them. seals will shrink terribly if it has set in storage a long time. any snowmobile mech. will tell you that. the seals have to be in great shape, or it defeats the vacuum effect to such air and fuel into the bottom end. with worn bearings they will try to seize when hot. and without the seals in great shape, it will never run at optimun level. and youll think you have coil problems all the time. you will have to takethe crank, to a shop with a press, the bearings have to be pressed on.
Q:Rear bearings went out too soon?
It sounds like the pre-load on the bearing was wrong. In between the bearings there is a spacer that sets the load on the bearings. It sounds like it's wrong. Or it could have just been a bad bearing. It does happen. I'm amazed it didn't chew the belt up and break it. I'd check the belt very carefully to make sure the teeth aren't chewed up or missing. Changing a belt is an expensive repair due to the amount of tear down to replace it. Make sure the belt is good before you put it back on the road.

Q:should I buy new trucks or bearings for my longboard?
If you have $100 you can seriously buy both. But if you are looking for longer roll time, bearings are what you need. NEVER SPEND A LOT OF BEARINGS!!! Bearings should never cost more than $15. If you get a good set of bearings and keep them cleaned and lubed when needed, there will be no difference between $100 bearings and $10 bearings. I recommend MileHighSkate or Magic bearings if you can get them. They are high quality and $9. If not, Bone Reds are easy to find, but arent as nice and cost $15. I also HIGHLY recommend you get bearing spacers. They are $5 and go inside your bearings and allow you to tighten your wheels all the way, giving you a smoother ride. You should also have speed rings too (those 8 rings that come with your current trucks). Trucks will not help you go faster.
Q:How good are ceramic bearings?
Ceramic bearings will not hold up to jumps. They are primarily intended for downhill longboarding and street luge. They would work as a speed skate bearing as well. Go for a Swiss bearing like Pig Swiss or Black Panther Swiss. .
