Q:I'm buying a new skateboard with complete trucks, wheels and abec 3 bearings.I just wanted to know if it is any difference to Abec 5, 7, 9 ??
not very, i had abec 7's ages ago and they were only just fast enough to brag about, i dont think its that much more expensive to get 7's. but yeh they were good :)
Q:The bearings sound fine and smooth, Could this be from not tightening the bearing main nuts tight enoughgt;? I didn't use a torque wrench, it says 165 - 195 nM for torque, but I did it by feel... What could it be? It couldn't be the kingpin bearings? (Those were changed too)
Depending if you have only a lower and upper control arm or not like on dodge trucks. It sounds like the cv joints. They tend to pop or clunk while turning continously until wheel is straightened when the boot protecting the joints have broken or split letting the grease which keeps it lubricated dry or leak out, therefore making a popping noise while turning. May need replacing. Hope I was of some help.
Q:Its a yamaha r6 2002 model and im trying to remove the back wheel bearings.I have pulled the oil seal off and the circlip but cant get any further. The bearings arnt moving when i tried to tap them out.Do i need to take the wheel to a dealer to press the bearings out with a special tool made for the job or is there a way to remove them on my own and how do you put the new ones back in? Any advise would be greatly appreciated as i need my bike for work and at the moment its in bits and cant put it back together until this is sorted.
Not sure about Yamaha but some BMW wheels must have wheels heated up to change berings.
Q:So i recently got a new engine and tranny for my 1992 honda accord. (engine swap h22a) runs great. but i noticed it makes a loud humming noise after i release my foot off the pedal. This happened i THINK before i got the engine swap too. but that was like 2 years ago so i dont really remember. it was sitting in my driveway for about 2 years. my new mechanic says its the wheel bearings. The engine and tranny r fine and run and shift well but even if im going 30, or 70, when i take my foot off the pedal it goes....huummmmmm, going down. Humming decreasing. He heard it and said the front wheel bearings need to be replaced. What do you think? thanks.
That is very correct its the wheel bearings
Q:A ship is sailing through the water i the English Channel with a velocity of 2 knots along a bearing of 157 degrees. The current has a velocity along a bearing of 213 degrees. The actual velocity of the ship is the vector sum of the ship's velocity and the water's velocity. Find the actual velocity.Ok so i understand how to do the actual problem, I just have no idea how to convert the bearing degrees into standard form so i can do the problem. I looked at my teacher's review and she gave the standard form for the bearing of 157 degrees as 293 degrees, and the 213 degree bearing as 237 degrees. Well I looked at them and found that the both add up to 450 degrees which i thought might be the solution, but I looked at another problem that had a bearing of 60 degrees and standard position of 30 degrees. Thanks for any help in advance.
true bearing is a navigational angle. it is oriented such that 000 is at due north, and it increases clockwise. a mathematical angle is oriented so that 0 is at due east and it increase counter-clockwise. as a result, the relationship between the true bearing and a mathematical angle is A1 = 90 degrees - A2 where if A1 is the navigational angle, then A2 must be the mathematical angle, or if A1 is the mathematical angle, then A2 must be the navigational angle. That's why bearing 157 degrees = 90 - 157 = -67 degrees = -67+360 = 293 degrees and bearing 213 degrees = 90 - 213 = -117 deg = -117+360 = 237 degrees === so as long as you convert bearings into mathematical angles, then you can resolve vectors into (x,y) coordinates using the standard transformation x = r cos(t) y = r sin(t) where r is the magnitude of the vector and t is the mathematical angle. otherwise, you have to use x = r cos(90-t) = r sin(t) y = r sin(90-t) = r cos(t) where t is the bearing
Q:i am looking for new FKD bearings but i dont know which is better: FKD Abec 5 steel shield or abec 5 neoprene??
Really no difference. Neoprene shields are a little easier to get out if you are going to clean or relube the bearings but you only have to take one out per bearing and only do it one time (since you don't reinstall the one you removed).
Q:What are some fast skateboard bearings bearings?
If you can spend a lot of money, bones swiss ceramics are the best bearings out there, but run around $120-160. Any bearings that cost around $20 or more are fast, but brand-wise the highest quality are bones. By standards, bones reds are the highest quality for the price. Almost every skater uses bones reds. They cost $20 and are better than flip, panther, and other bearings at the same price. They are quite a lot faster, and a lot more durable as well.
Q:How do i use the law of cosine to find bearings. For example:On a hiker's map, point A is 2.7 in. due west of point B and point C is 3.4 in. from B and 4.1 in. from A, respectively. Find the bearing of A from C and the bearing of B from C
law okorder / the solution I gave is correct assuming C is north of A-B because bearings are taken CCW from N. the solution you are reporting is correct if C is south of A-B — a bit of information not provided. ??
Q:I am building my own longboard and i would like to go fast so what bearings shuld i go for and if you have any suggestions for wheels too that would be great.
ABEC rating doesn't mean anything to skateboards. Take your board and drop it from chest height to the ground, now your bearings are rated far less than ABEC1. Just make sure they're clean and lubed and there'll be no difference in speed between $2 no-name bearings and $50 ceramics. Grab some VXB bearings. They're cheap and good. Instead of paying $45 for ABEC 9s, spend $45 and get 100 bearings (12 sets + 4 extra bearings), or spend $25 and get some with built-in spacers (makes sliding a lot smoother, unless you're using precision spacers in your normal bearings). As for wheels (which have a much larger effect on speed than bearings btw), 80a Retro ZigZags are some of the best all-around wheels. Very fast, grippy and smooth rolling. Other wheels to check out are 69mm/70mm 80a/82a Sector 9 Race Formulas, 80a or 83a Orangatang 4Prez, and Earthwing Road Rages or Smokers.
Q:what tools should you use
a soft bristle brush and solvent.....
