Q:You have nine ball-bearings, all of the same size but one slightly heavier than the others, though not enough to be detected by holding them. You have some balance scales and are allowed to do only two weighing of any number of ball bearings. How do you find the heavy one?P.S. please answer this so I could get 5 extra points in my exam .lol thanks!!!
Weigh three ball bearings against another three ball bearings. If one side goes down then you know the heavy one is one of those three. If the scale balances then it is one of the ones you didn't weigh. Weight two of the three containing the heavy ball against each other. If one side goes down then it is the heavy one. If the scales balance then the heavy one is the one you didn't weigh.
Q:what is the difference between alloy bearings and plastic bearings?
Alloy bearings are med out of metal alloys. Plastic bearings are made out of plastic. The metal ones are more durable and last longer, but are heavier than the plastic ones.
Q:can skateboard bearings fit in scooter wheels
yes skateboard bearings fit into scooter wheels to but i prefer to get swiss bearings cause they go on forever
Q:do bones reds super bearings work good for longboards?
DO NOT listen to the other guy. Reds are known for being the best performing bearings in skateboarding and they are very inexpensive. I mean sure if you spent like $50+ on bearings you might get slightly better then Reds but really it's not worth it. reds are great. i've skated other bearings, always go back to reds. ask anyone at a local park
Q:I have reds bones bearings and they were all fine until today. I got them over a month ago and haven't cleaned them. Today I ran over a pebble going fast and fell. Right after that my bearings on one of my wheels stopped spinning. I could ride but they don't spin when I spin them with my hand. I think something got in the bearings. It's both of the bearings in the wheel not just one. What could I do to check if there's anything in them? What do I do if there is? And how do I clean the bearings? What do I need? Thanks for helping!
Here are some good links to visit. What I do is: Pop of the sheild with a small nail, or you could use a thumbtack Clean them with a reccomended cleaner Ex. rubbing alcohol Spin them pinching the middle with my fingers to remove dirt, Dry them, Put the sheilds back on, Wipe the bearings with the sheilds on, on a old towel to make them look new, And put some Bones speedcream in them, Put em' back on the wheels. Hope this helps.
Q:i bought some new bearings today, Bones Reds. the guy at the shop said that they were so fast they didn't need an abec. after riding i thought that my old bearings, the rush abec-7's, went faster. i just wanted to know which is faster
There is no way for someone to give you an answer to your question without testing both bearings on expensive equipment with specific loading. If the Rush bearings work better for you, buy them in the future. However both the shop guy and jibiking are full of nonsense about ABEC and also partly right. ABEC is a tolerance specification for how gaps inside the bearing and how much it can wobble when it spins. It has nothing to do with how easily a bearing spins. ABEC got used for skate bearings because companies were using Precision grade bearings which are garbage. ABEC 1 rated bearings were a vast improvement over the Precision grade. Bearing sellers then decided if 1 is good, larger numbers can be advertised as better. A few of the better bearing companies (Twin Cam, Zero Drag, Bones) have designs that are better for skating by not meeting the specifications of the ABEC ratings..
Q:My 2000 4x4 Lifted Ford Excursion has a clicking noise when I am driving, on the front driver side. I can take my foot off the gas an it is still there no matter the speed. I am thinking it is a bad Hub/Bearing? How would I know for SURE that is what it is? Any tips on what to look for if I jack it up? Thanks.
CV joints usually make noise only on hard turns under acceleration. It's more of a low knock knock knock noise. Wheel bearings make more of a grinding sound, similar to the noise made by a brake rotor being ground away by the metal part of a brake pad after the pad material is gone. The wheel bearing noise gets louder as you go faster. Clicking noise can be caused by anything stuck in a tire (stone, nail, etc.) and I've seen brakes make a clicking noise when the pads are loose in the caliper mounts. If you jack the car up, you can try shaking the tire in and out holding it on the top and bottom, or from left to right which will tell you if you have worn suspension parts or a bad wheel bearing. Noises are at times hard to pinpoint. Make sure you check your lug nuts, they can loosen up if not torqued properly. Have a mechanic take the vehicle for a ride, test drives are usually free.
Q:lets keep it unanymous people
Swiss ceramic bearings. theyre worth buying. (100 bucks) they last long, bestest IN THE WORLD, great quality, rolls smooth, easy to clean, removable shields,
Q:I got a set of bones reds skateboard bearings about 5 months ago and i heard that theyre really fast. but they have been really slow ever since ive got them. today i squirted wd-40 inside the wheel over the bearings and span them for ages and they span for ages really fast. i heard wd-40 is bad for skateboard beasrings though? i only go to indoor skateparks with it so they dont get that dirty
Wow! Good answers all around! WD-40 made for NASA like in 50's or 60's to protect missile outer covering from moisture, ice build up, rust and all. And it did a fair job. Real rocket science stuff! But early rocket science stuff! With use like in door knobs, locks, wd-40 will collect moisture. Which leads to collecting rust, dust, dirt, and in cold weather ice. It also solidifies...turns gummy. And looses what lubricating qualities it has...After a while...had. So the bearings will spin really fast now as the oil put into bearings is thin.. And later bearings will be ruined by you using the board as the oil breaks down. Have bearings cleaned by a pro or by yourself if mechanically inclined. Then buy a serious lubricating oil made for your skateboarding use. You spent good money for a good board. Do so now with the oil and enjoy!
