Q:just curious the difference between an alarm on/off button and a panic button?
Your landlord refuses to replace a unit he/she removed? Call your tenant /landlord association - see the yellow pages - this is against the law. Apartments rented with optional (smoke fire detectors) must maintain and replace units so installed. (wireless or hardwired) You could always put your new unit over the place where the landlord removed the previous unit. (first take a picture of the place where the unit used to be - do this with a newspaper close so you can establish a date - time frame.)
Q:I need help on finding out what's a good alarm system for my 1997 honda accord sedan. I don't want remote start just looking for an alarm that has siren an locks and unlocks. One that is not to expensive I want something more affordable but also works great and can keep my car safe. I don't know to much about alarms so please help.
Sounds like you have a build up of scale in your pipes. If the black specks are hard then it is most likely scale and that will be coming from the pipes. If they are rubber like then you may have a rubber seal somewhere in the system that is falling apart slowly. Anyway you say that it is only a big rush of water to this particular outlet so it is something to do with this line. If it only happens in the one spot in your house, the main bathroom then that isolates it to the pipes or fittings on that leg of your plumbing. You say you have replaced the faucet so you know how to turn your mains supply water to your house on and off. I suggest you try to isolate the problem even further. Turn your water off; open a faucet to relieve the pressure in your hot water sytem tank. Remove the outlet pipe from your hot water service and have someone turn the mains tap on again but catch the water in a bucket. Check if the black specks are there or not, if they are then the problemn is further up stream, if not then it is further downstream which I think it probably is but you need to eliminate the origin of the specks. I think you probably get where I am going with this, keep tracking until you find what area the specks are coming from. If you find it is in the pipes you can flush them with all sorts of things to clean them out. But you will be forced to repeat fairly regularly as scale is just rust which breaks away and flows with the water. If you have copper pipes there may be a piece of steel pipe in the line and that is where your scale will be coming from. If the specks are coming from the heater and depending on what they are as to how you will need to deal with it. If all else fails take a sample of the specks to your local hardware or plumbing store, look for the oldest person working there and explain what is going on and what you know about the source. They may be able to help. Best of luck
Q:i got a new bike lock today called onguard locks. it saids to reset the lock combo, i have to turn the reset collar, but i donno what that is? can someone explain to me?
If you want something that your tenants cannot disconnect, you would have to be far more creative than just buying expensive, hard wired units. I had hard wired smoke detectors in a rental that were triggered every time I made a piece of toast. I just put a plastic doggie bag over each of them, perfect size. Dog was puzzled but problem solved for ever. Get the cheapest ones out there and position them intelligently so that your tenants are not provoked into disabling them. Replace the batteries yearly.
Q:Hot melt pipe joint leakage how to do?
First of all, to find the cause of leakage of hot melt pipe joints, there is a reason to know how to answer, the following are a few solutions;1, the safest solution is to replace the leaking parts of the pipe. Off valve, drain, with PPR scissors cut Water Leakage parts of pipeline, PPR soup machine, with a direct it. The process is uncomplicated and the skilled worker will be able to solve it in 30 minutes.
Q:Press the hydraulic pipe fittings standard need to do what procedures
The corresponding micrometer scale is 3. Installed with 33mm mold on the mold seat, and rotated to 3 micrometer scale, the hose peeling and joint assembly. After measuring the joint outer diameter of buckling is buckling parameter table after withholding value 33.5mm is withheld. If the diameter does not conform to withhold, after a fine micrometer withhold hose. Withhold hose connector: swage size too much, hose layer broken, causing leakage; too little buckling size, and hydraulic oil spill caused by rushing out of joint.
Q:its my homework i need to make some kind of model submarine that floats for 30 secondssinks for 30 secondsthen comes back up for 30 secondsits due tomorrow and its 11 at night so i cant go anywhere to get anythingplease help!!!
Most garbage disposals have two pipe/tube fittings. The smaller one is for intake from the dishwasher, if any, about a 5/8 OD tube sticking out a few inches. You can get a universal multi-sized adapter to make that work. if using it, just make sure you remove the knockout plug in the unit (read the instructions). The bigger pipe goes on the side where the two bolts go, generally a 1 1/2 OD tube (NOT 1 1/2 pipe, which is bigger) - this is the drain to be connected to the rest of the under-sink drain pipe. Depending on your overall installation, you may need a garbage disposal elbow that makes a fairly sharp 90 degree turn down from the side of the machine, or a straight-out tube - used for more than this, and called a tailpiece, available in several lengths. Just get the long one (12), as you can cut off what you don't need. Either way, also make sure to have that special fat, slotted gasket to pop on to the flanged end of the elbow or tailpiece where it bolts to the machine. (This makes more sense in a good hardware store.) Since you're replacing a previous machine, rather than a completely new install, you're almost done. Just stay with standard kitchen 1 1/2 OD stuff all the way.
Q:I work at a fire hydrant factory. I am having trouble finding a parking space near the building its very frustrating. I have to walk really far to get to the door. What should I do? Should I tell my boos about my problem?
Your comment wasn't unny and neither was the situation! I think I am tired and bored
Q:im from scotland and the speed limits are 30 in towns and citys and 70 on the motorway and sometimes a 20 if theres speed bumpsso whats the limits in the usa?
I'll make this real easy for you. If it is a PVC or CPVC or copper pipe, doesn't matter. Forget that glue and forget the soddering, you don't need to do any of that. Turn off the main water switch, open the lines and let the water drain then you cut out the part that is broken from the pipe. Home depot sells a product called SharkBite. It is literarly a connector for pipes with snap on fittings. Measure the pipe and get a SharkBite - 1/2 inch or 1 pipe or 2 inch pipe, just measure the pipe, ok? Position the SB onto the pipe, (make sure you snap it in really well until it pops) and turn the water back on. That's it. The guys at HD can tell you which one to get.
Q:Is the safety gear like insulating gloves and sleeves for high voltage hot direct current work the same as for high voltage hot ac electrical work or different?
I'm not a huge fan of sharkbite fittings especially in an enclosed place where they could leak without anyone noticing for a while. However, I can't see anything wrong with the setup you have. Yes of course brass is more expensive than plastic and better. Seems like maybe your handyman wants you to think he is smarter than he really is. I would suggest adding a wood block between the studs behind the valve and attaching the valve to it with plumbers strap. that way it cant wiggle around with use and cause leaks later.
Q:He suggested picking upon a new curling iron or get my hair done at a hair salon I said no to both of these and then I thought of my mom and said i could roller set my hair And he said i have never seen you in rollers before and he bought me some I got back home and have not used my curling iron again as I now prefer putting my hair in curlers
Go talk to your local hardware store. They are alot more helpful than the big guys. You should think twice before chaning out the copper. The copper is stronger cleaner than PVC.
