Q:Just moved into a new house and the basement is already wired for surround sound. The ends are two wires one silver one gold/brass wrapped together with plastic. Looks like they were cut at the ends. How difficult would it be to wore the speakers myself?
If the wire you are referring to is standard speaker wire, then you wire it to your speakers, at one end, and to your receiver, at the other end, the same way that you normally wire up speakers. In other words, always connect the same colour of wire to each positive connection, and the other colour to all of the negative connections.
Q:So Ive never done wiring for my car, But my friends are willing to talk me through it. But the next time I can talk to them is next week and they kept telling me to tap into wires. but What does that mean? like, what does it mean to quot;tapinto the wires?
What are you trying to add?
Q:i have a 97 chevy blazer. My fuel pump went so i purchased a new one. i did not know that the company changed the wiring on the fuel pump..all the wires are 2gether in the wiring harness and all i have to do is cut off the old harnss and wire the new one in its place. Im not sure exactly how to wire it. What do I do? do i just strip wires and twist them or what?
trace down old wires from pump / sending unit there will be one wire that goes to both the pump and sending unit....... that is ground ....mark old wires before cutting ....... then hook to same on new pump
Q:what wires do i use to bridge subs together?
12 awg twine is superb....yet i do no longer understand your question. Are you attempting to parallel or sequence the voice coils? Paralle. tie the two together. constructive to constructive. detrimental to detrimental. which would be a 2 ohm load. sequence. in basic terms run the bounce twine from constructive of one coil to detrimental of the 2nd coil. which would be a 8 ohm load. Assuming the coils are 4 ohm..wish that enables.
Q:Would any body please let me know about Bank Wire and Bank Transfer system?
A bank wire is a telegram wiring cash money to a third party, usually directly into the bank account of the receiver. It is expensive, costing about $30 for a domestic wire and $45-50 for an international wire. The bank transfer system is a pre-approved electronic bank transfer from your account to the receivers account and is almost instanteneous and cheap (pennies, not dollars).
Q:I removed a dishwasher and now the wires are exposed. I turned off the circuit to that outlet. I am planning on waiting a while to replace the dishwasher. I want to turn the circuit back on so I can use the other outlets, but don't want to leave the wires exposed. Any ideas?
wire nuts that can hold 1 .. 14awg wire or a bit smaller... twist one on each individual wire and give it a little tug, it sould not come out, then wrap some electrical tape around each of them
Q:How doI wire a ceiling chain light to wall switch? I want to stop using the chain to turn the light on and off. I hane already installed the wall switch and the wiring in the box but not sure how to connect the wiring in the box to the ceiling light wiring.
Before you do anything, turn off the power. Sometimes people will wire up switches hot, but they know what to touch and what not to touch. You should not take that risk. There will be two power cables coming into the box, one from the power source and the other to the ceiling light. Each cable has a black wire, a white wire, and a bare copper wire. Connect all the white wires together with a wire nut. Connect all the bare wires and an extra piece of bare wire together with another wire nut. Connect the extra piece of bare wire to the green screw terminal on the switch. Connect the black wire from the power source to one brass screw terminal on the switch. It doesn't matter which one you use. Connect the black wire from the ceiling light to the other brass screw terminal on the switch. Don't screw the switch into its box yet. Turn the power back on. Test the switch, being careful not to touch any wires while doing so. After it works, turn the power off again and screw the switch into t
Q:Hey there, so my cat chewed through some of my wires, what should I do to like fix them?
go to your local hardware store and buy some wire connectors. turn your power off and snipe the wires off, and then put he ends together and twist the wire nuts on. This is the safest way to keep from having problems later on and a lot safer.
Q:I've started cutting wire and bending it into shapes to create animals or images, but the problem is, I need to know how to make each piece stick together without any glues as they make the art dulled and the metal looses its shine :/ any suggestions?
I did wire art in college and we had to use just the wire as well, so I just used needle nose plyers and did a lot of twisting to hold the wires together.
Q:I have an old sewing machine without a plug that needs wiring up but it doesn't have the modern wire colours. There's one red wire and one yellow. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks =]
It would be better for you to post a picture of your wires and where they are going to on the machine so that we can tell you what is what. Otherwise it would be difficult to say just by telling us one is red and one is yellow. No offense intended, there's just not enough information with just knowing the wire colors. ------------------------ WARNING! Red is NEVER used to indicate a earth connection as XOXO suggests! Damage to your machine or harm to you could result if you attempted to connect red to earth. ------------------------ OK, I see your picture (thanks): Yellow is most likely the common wire. It connects to your white wire. The red wire connects to the Hot (black) wire. If you have a switch in the system, the red wire would connect to your switch or foot (gas peddle). And of course the other side of your switch would be connected to your black wire of the power cord.
