Q:I bought an Air-O-Space Sofa but it keeps deflating. If I inflate it in five hours it deflates. It does not have any visible holes nor any holes that may allow the air to escape and I always keep it locked.Is it supposed to deflate after few hours? Is it a common problem? Is there a way to fix it?: The problem with inflatable furniture is that even a hole too small to see is going to allow enough air to escape over time to deflate your sofa. And since the hole could be anywhere, it's not going to be easy to find. If you could submerge the entire thing, you would be able to see air escaping, but that's not very practical. If it's still brand-new, you could try exchanging it for another one, but even then, it's only a matter of time before some seam weakens, or some small sharp object pokes a new hole.

Q:I've been looking around and I can only find either a cheap sofa lounger that is not comfortable or a comfy one that is not cheap. Does anyone know of a good place to find a decent sofa lounger, besides IKEA (unless you have personally had a good experience with it)? I would prefer to spend no more than 200-300 dollars and I would like it to be black microfiber, not leather. I found one on Kmart's website, it's called the Elite Mali Flex Capital Collection Futon, but it only has 3 reviews (all good). Q:I'm thinking of replacing an old upholstered couch with a microfiber sofa. I have a teenager and a (non-shedding) dog and in the past I've had my furniture and rugs professionally steam cleaned as needed. Does anyone know if microfiber will hold up to a high-traffic household where the muddy-footed dog sneaks on the furniture? In your experience is washable microfiber really washable or will it look terrible the first time I clean it?: I have a white microfiber sofa that cost $5,000. (yes white. yes $5,000). Also, two dogs and a cat. It's washable if you get a steam cleaner. The salespeople imply that you can just use a damp sponge to remove stains. This is no more or less true than any other fabric. They also tell you to not use a steam cleaner because it ruins the grain or something. All I can say is it ain't a miracle fabric. It gets dirty and then, over time, it gets really dirty, just like all furniture, and it needs to be cleaned. Given the cost I lived in hell with my couch for several years. My husband purchased it and I was on pins and needles just sitting on the darn thing. Well, the dog ate some bacon grease and I came home from work to bacon vomit all over the couch. Called a professional a few days later and he said it was too late, I should have called him immediately. That's when I just steamed it myself and it's perfectly fine and I don't worry about it anymore. Also, I have micro fiber footstools and I take the covers off and throw them in the wash. No problem. However, it's been five years and it all looks a little worn because it is worn. Don't pay more because you think it's indestructible. Buy it because it looks nice or you like the way it feels. In the end, it's just another fabric.

Q:how do I keep my sofa from moving on ceramic tile floor?: If there is no wall behind your sofa, I've seen many catalogs where there are short, rectangular cabinets or sometimes desks to support it. But, if you have people throwing themselves on the sofa you might want to get something heavy so it wouldn't get knocked over.

Q:I have this great old 1920s Empire Sofa (curled arms, navy velour, brass claw feet, uber comfortable)But the problem is that it is sagging. I felt underneath the couch and I feel wire or springs or something like that. I have a friend who can reupholster, but I wonder about the springs or whatever on the bottom. How do I fix that so it wont sag?: The springs probable need to be retied or replaced. I would not reupholster it unless it was absolutely necessary..if you must do it use the same kind of fabric that is on it now. It sounds like a really beautiful piece!

Q:i had bought a new sofa but i need to paint the wall to make it nicer.now my wall is plain white becuz last time i bought a black sofa.my sofa is a L-shape and 2 seater.I need to paint my downstairs with the colour cuz my house is full of brown furniture.please i need your help verymuch ..thx.: We just painted our big walls chocolate brown, and with our brown couch there is no color, so I definitely would not go with a brown. However, we are getting a sage green couch set and we knew this so that is why we went with the brown. I would go with either a green (like sage) or a red, and then you can do some of the other walls a lighter brown. If you do end up going all brown though, you could get throw pillows, art work, plants, candles, etc. to add color too.
