Q:Friction generates heat and causes wear and tear in machinery yet friction is often needed. Explain briefly?
In addition to cars and wheels/tires, there is also internal friction. Internal friction is what allows you to build up an oil wedge in rotating machinery that relies on a wedge of oil to separate the metal shaft and whatever the bearing surface happens to be, or the ball bearings from the inner and outer race. Friction also allows spinning devices to slow to a stop without the use of brakes...which would also not work without friction. Clutches wouldn't work without friction either, which means you couldn't easily release and re-engage the gears in a transmission...and if it's an automatic transmission, it relies on hydraulic friction to develop pressure in the torque converter. So, in a nutshell, friction is sometimes a bad thing when it results in the loss of mechanical efficiency by converting some of the power applied to useless heat. However, it is also a necessary feature when it is the primary reason a piece of equipment operates...and even then, a portion of that energy will be lost as heat. There is therefore no perfect machines or perpetual motion machines, you always lose some amount of energy to friction, but there are lots of things you couldn't do without friction.
Q:i am wondering if my excavator bulldozer and other heavy machinery skills would be of any help in Haiti?
There isn't any machinery there to speak of. There isn't any government there to speak of. Perhaps contact Habitat for Humaniy; in a few months they may need someone with your skills to help in the rebuilding process--which is going to go on for YEARS.
Q:How to detect any problem in used machinery?
Understand and know what your looking at.
Q:What kind of career will the future of the ship engineering technology major be?
From the type of position, can be developed in the following ways: research and design, technical support, project management, market sales, these jobs if there are technical background related is more conducive to the development of occupation.
Q:Do you need a special license to operate heavy machinery?
NO, you do not there are schools though that offer training as well as companies that provide on the job training. But there are not any licenses even for on the job trucks where you do not leave the job site.}{
Q:If i enlist in the coast guard should i be a machinery technician or storekeeper?
Winechan has zero experience or understanding of how the Coast Guard works - or the military in general. Speaking PURELY of numbers, there are many more MK's in the Coast Guard than there are SK's - so by the NUMBERS, more MK's will be advanced each year than SK's. The PERCENTAGE of people being advanced remain pretty close to the same for all ratings in the Coast Guard, so there really isn't a difference in advancement rates. Don't forget that to go to OCS, you will have to either have a four-year college degree, which is hard to get in the Coast Guard within your first couple of enlistments - OR - you'll have to be at least an E-5, with five years of Time in Service (and be on your second enlistment or later), with at least two years of college. Neither of these programs (regular OCS applications or TEMP commission OCS applications) are forgiving about age and age-related waivers, so make sure you can get the college and be able to apply at LEAST three or more times before you stand any realistic chance of being accepted. I've known folks that applied five and more times (the record I saw was EIGHT times!!) before being accepted to OCS. There is about a 10% chance of being accepted each time you apply... so it isn't easy. The FS officer (Finance and Supply) field is very small - a LOT of the officer-type functions are done by Warrant Officers. Engineering Officers (EO's) are more numerous, but they don't turn wrenches or actually work on machinery. Look at it this way: which field interests you more? Would you rather sit in a warehouse and count beans or be in oily bilges, turning wrenches? Some people LOVE one or the other, and rarely love the idea of BOTH career fields. Brian Raini
Q:Details of plant & machinery of Essential oil from Eucalyptus?
i've got no idea, but i'm really sorry
Q:how to procure ceramic machinery?
There are many ceramic suppliers across the country. SInce I don't know where you are located I can offer the following. The link below is to my web page that has a listing of ceramic suppliers I use. Some are in the northeast, like Bailey Pottery, Ceramic Supply, and Sheffield Pottery, where I live. If you are in that area, then they deliver on a regular basis. For many things I shop around, and both Axner and Bennett's in Florida have very good prices. But check for sales on different items. At these suppliers you can get kilns, wheels, pug mills, clay mixers, grinders, glazing machinery and more. If you are wanting to go to the supplier, then google ceramic suppliers in your home town. Many times you will want to actually try out the equipment, such as a wheel. The third option is used equipment that you can find on Ebay, Craig's List, your local penny saver or Bargain News (if you have that paper). I have found deals at estate sales and also by checking the bulletin boards at local art schools and craft centers. Good luck with your search.
Q:Where can I buy heavy machinery like a really big excavator in Australia?
You okorder.com they have a fair range of excavators
Q:With 3Dprinting, why do we need variations of CNC machinery?
