Q:Factors that affect wire?
1) How does the type of wire affect resistance? Wires can be made of different materials , and each material has its own resistance properties, some materials have high resistance and others have low resistance. 2) How does the length of wire affect resistance? Think of it this way , when increasing the length of the wire it will be harder for the electrons to pass through, which means higher resistance it will be. 3) How does the diameter of the wire affect resistance? Small diameter wires have high resistance , because when the diameter of the wire is small it will be hard for the electrons to pass through the wire, unlikely if it has big diameter then it has small resistance because now the electrons can move easy because of its big diameter. 4) How does temperature affect resistance? Temperature also effects wires resistance, when the temperature in the wire increases the resistance will also increase, to understand why imagine your self holding a wire and buring some area in it , what will happen is the heat will melt that section and cut the wire so its like an open circuit which means very high resistance (No electrons will pass through the wire). Good Luck.
Q:How can I identify the hot wire when I only have two black wires and no white wire in knob and tube wiring?
ok, a light switch is different then a outlet plug. the black wire is the hot wire and comes in to one side if the switch and goes out the other side. the switch just open the circuit to turn off the light or closes the circuit to turn it on.
Q:What is the difference between 2 wire and 4 wire fire alarm devices?
2 Wire Vs 4 Wire Smoke Detector
Q:audi a4 amp wiring?

Q:how can i be sure of my remote wire?
hey bud ,get you a d.c. tester, now the remote from the radio, power your radio up then ground the tester good, now make sure it works, then touch each wire with the point it will light up....... now from under the dash, turn your switch on to the first assor.not when all of your dash light up, and touch those wires it ill light up,now when it light up ,hold it on that 1 and turn your switch off and on ,if it goes on and off with the switch thats the remote
Q:Pendant light has 4 wires, what is this gray wire?
Dan is probably right, the extra cable would be called a messenger, cable have small letters printed on them, if you can identify the multi-letter UL cable designation and submit it here or google it.
Q:Wiring a new electric cook top?
What he did was correct to ground the white wire. You're good to go.
Q:where buy aircraft wire?
I okorder.com/
Q:electroluminescent wire?
What about it?
Q:Wiring the switch to my 2 speed attic fan.?
I think you are describing NM cables(Romex). What you have is: 1 black romex with a hot(black) a neutral(white) and a bare ground. and 2 white romexs with a black, white, bare each. right so far? What you probably have is the hot and neutral going to the switch j-box (black romex) and the 2 white romexs go from the switch to the fan j-box. I think I need more info. Do you have a test meter? Are you sure the black romex is the Hot and Neutral? When the wires are disconnected are there other things that don't have power to them? Did you undo the neutral splice? If you could send this info I think I can walk you thru it.
