There is no real prevention you can take. Bed bugs are quite insidious---they are very tough to get rid of. You can use a sleeping bag, but be willing to throw it away when you are done with it. Bed bugs can be in the entire room---in pillows, couches, RUGS/ CARPET. Bed bugs have been know to get into suitcases/backpacks, etc., and be carried home after a trip, and then be transferred to your bed at home. Because there is much more awareness of the HUGE problem of bed bugs, many top Hotels are becoming proactive to prevent them. Bed bugs can give you lots of itchy little bumps, but it is not life threatening.

Q:I think that's what I want. I love my current bed but hate the foot board. No matter how pretty I make the bed the foot messes it up. I went to Macy's last night and was looking at their pretty beds. Well i noticed it's just a box with a mattress on top (no boxspring)I came home and tried to find out how to build such a box, and all I can find are these low to the ground beds. Am I looking up the wrong name?

get rid of the foot board.or buy a bed frame that has no foot board.then attach the head board to the new frame.

Q:I want to buy some bedding from an american internet site but the sizing is confusing me. i want to buy a quilt set for a single bed for my son but I can only find twin size. Is twin the same as the uk single or is it bigger? They also mention a sham, what is one of these? Thanx in advance.

If you need to use the mattress to the crib, then you may as well move to a twin bed. The benefit of the toddler bed is that it is close to the floor and you can use the crib mattress, saving you money. If you are going to purchase a twin bed you may want to consider buying a top bunk bed. I did this for my son when he was two years old. It is closer to the floor and has a board underneath it so you do not need a box spring, just the mattress. The other great thing about his is that is was made of two by fours and was very sturdy. He is now 16 and moved up to a double bed last year, so we got our moneys worth out of the bed. If you really need to save money, purchase a toddler bed and use the same mattress from the crib and later buy and new crib mattresses for the new baby.

Q:My son is now 2 he will not sleep in his bed. Even if he is already sleeping and we put him in his bed he wakes right up. We have tried putting him in his bed and staying in his room till he falls asleep which works however 2 or 3 hours later he is running into the room screaming.

give him some drowsy medicine before bed and i bet he wont wake up so much in the night to come running into your room.

You can if you want to but there is no need. A box spring is just a box these days and it's just something for the mattress to sit on. The same function as the platform bed. The box is redundant.
