Armored Power Cable
Introduction
Steel Tape Armored (STA) Cable could bear certain mechanical force, but it could not bear great pulling force. It is suitable o be laid underground. STA cable not only has excellent electric, mechanical properties, but also has powerful resistance against heat aging, environmental stress and chemical corrosion. Its structure is simple and convenient to use and can be laid with no restriction of different elevation. The permissible maximum operating temperature is 90℃. Steel tape armored cable (STA Cable) produced by Gongyi Cable Wire Co., Ltd can be produced according to our company standard which is equivalent IEC60502. Gongyi Cable Wire Co., Ltd can design and manufacture other Specification and armored type upon request.
Features
Steel Wire Armored (SWA) Cable commonly abbreviated as SWA cable, is a hard-wearing power cable designed for the supply of mains electricity. It is one of a number of armored electrical cables – which include 11kV Cable and 33kV Cable – and is found in underground systems, power networks and cable ducting. The typical construction of an SWA cable can be broken down as follows:
Conductor: consists of plain stranded copper (cables are classified to indicate the degree of flexibility. Class 2 refers to rigid stranded copper conductors as stipulated by British Standard BS EN 60228:2005)
Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) is used in a number of power cables because it has good water resistance and excellent electrical properties. Insulation in cables ensures that conductors and other metal substances do not come into contact with each other.
Bedding: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) bedding is used to provide a protective boundary between inner and outer layers of the cable.
Armor: Steel wire armor provides mechanical protection, which means the cable can withstand higher stresses, be buried directly and used in external or underground projects. The armoring is normally connected to earth and can sometimes be used as the circuit protective conductor ("earth wire") for the equipment supplied by cable.
Sheath: a black PVC sheath holds all components of the cable together and provides additional protection from external stresses.
The PVC version of SWA cable, described above, meets the requirements of both British Standard BS5467 and International Electrotechnical Commissionstandard IEC 60502. It is known as SWA BS5467 Cable and it has a voltage rating of 600/1000V. SWA cable can be referred to more generally as mains cable, armored cable, power cable and booklet armored cable. The name power cable, however, applies to a wide range of cables including 6381Y, NYCY, NYY-J and 6491X Cable.

- Q:My car wont start and only starts after moving power cables up and down. Im not sure what the problem is. If i slightly move it I see alittle sparking under the engine. When i manipulate the battery power cables it manipulates all the wires connecting to it so i cant pin point where the problem is. When i try to start ignition there is zero sound. When i manipulate cables it starts right up and cranks fine.
- You are not supposed to be able to move the battery cables and that's where your problem lies. Clean and tighten the battery terminals.
- Q:if i remove the power cable and switch on it works normally without restarting , plz help with this ~?
- go in control panel and set ur laptop settings to not to start while swith in
- Q:It's provided to me by my ISP which is Cox. If I were to unplug the power cord what would happen, would my phone no longer work without another technicians appointment. I know that the motorola cable modem with no phone service you can power cycle that one.
- With my Cable company it's the first thing you do (or the first thing tech support tells you to do) when there is any problem. It is set up to restart after power failures and brownouts, so I would say go ahead. If the phone doesn't work after you power cycle, Power cycle again and see if that time works.
- Q:Is the power cable considered a fixed asset?
- According to the total number of meters, such as where to where a total of how many kilometers (meters). Power system fixed assets asset management software - TU Teng fixed asset management software.
- Q:I have a Karcher power washer which was left outside over night. An animal chewed threw the power cable and so is unusable. I was wondering how to re-connect the power cord together, safely. I do not want to cross wires and use electrical tape. I was thinking of using a connector, but unsure of whether to use a two pinned or three pinned connector.
- You can install a plug on the cord to replace the one that was chewed off. Choose one with the same number of prongs as the cord has wires (2 or 3). Be sure to attach each wire to the correct terminal! Splicing the cord is also OK, and tape would not be a problem if applied properly, but I prefer to use heat-shrink tubing. When I do a top-grade splice, I first twist the wires tightly together without making a tail, then I solder them.
- Q:I have a psu that has two slots for 8 pin power connectors. It only came with one 8 pin to 6+2 pin and one 8 pin to 6 pin power cable. I have a video card that needs 2 8 pin connectors and I need a cable that is 8 pin to 8 pin. I can't use 6-pin slots because I have used all of them. I have found extenders but no male to male cable. Any help? Thanks?
- confident, this is going to artwork merely fantastic, do exactly no longer assume a sturdy overclock with merely 4 pins as adversarial to eight. additionally determine you plug the 4 pin into holes a million,2,3 and four and not 5,6,7 and eight or there'll be issues lol
- Q:Hifor the last days a strange thing happened. Every time I start my PC it say no video input and there is just black screen. The mouse and the keyboard is dead too. but every fan in the chase works. BUT when I unplug the power cable from the power supply and then plug it back again after 2 seconds the PC starts again without a problem. Anyone knows what is the thing that cause such a problem?THanks for the help!
- did you check the power cord and socket . because if it is a problem of power supply unit (psu) in your cpu cabinet than the whole system wont start.
- Q:I have a ZXi8008 and there's a cable that goes out to the head unit to turn on the amplifier, which is different than the power cable. But in this car, i have not installed a new head unit. Where do I hook up this cable otherwise? It needs a constant power supply to be on.
- i would hook it up to the power cable from ur stero that whay the amp will only come on when the radio comes on. that way u wont drain ur battery, thats if ur talking about the remote cable
- Q:I noticed many of our server cables are thicker than the standard ones for a desktop PC. Would any power cable work, regardless of gauge? I want to use shorter server power cables for cable management purposes, since some of our server cables are over 10-15 ft. in length and only need 3 ft. or so.
- You could shorten the cables, but you shouldn't use a smaller gauge. The gauge of the power wire is sized appropriate to the power supply of the server. If you use a wire that is to small a gauge you could create a fire hazard.
- Q:i have a 600w rms and a 300w rms amp the 600w amp has an 80a fuse and the 300w has two 25a fuses right now i have two seperate power cable for each amp going to the battery the inline fuse for the 600w amp is 100a and the inline fuse for the 300w amp is 50a (i need to swich to a 60a i know) they both have 8awg power cables 100a amps is about all a n 8 awg can handle so what i want to do is run a single zero guage cable to the firewall than on the inside of the vehicle have a distribution block what i need to know is -what guage wire should i use for the power wire at the battery-what size fuses to use and how many-the locations i should put the fusesthanks i pick best answers fast
- i would use 4ga. wire at the battery with a 120 curcuit breaker about 12-18 inches from the batery then 6-8 gauge off the dist.box to the amps
